This does not mesh with Methodist doctrine. See:

Further, black people especially should be opposed to it for this reason:

I don't have a theory other than to say a question like this makes my head spin. Seperate fact from fiction and report the damn facts. Rumors are rampant and opinions fly creating hysteria.

Black folks are smarter than white folks when it comes to the burdens of another unwanted mouth to feed.

Your definition of "smarter" isn't the same one Webster uses. :)~

Color is everything these days here in America, especially in politics and in the pursuit of upholding standards of performance and fitness for office. The caucasian politician is held to the same standards as the colored politician is too if both exist on the liberal progressive communist side of the spectrum. They both get a pass, readily available. Repeatedly.

Republicans and Libertarians are held to a much higher standard of performance and ability to hold office. If caught in a lie, they are often forced to resign. The liberal gets a promotion and billing in the government-controlled media.

Black churches aren't religiously based they are politically based. God only smiles on the when the politicians need to rile up the unwashed.

Anything like Jerry Falwell and his "Moral Majority" band that wrote the "conservative agenda"?
  • Reichstolz A Found... 2012/07/03 04:14:23
Considering I have seen no conservative politician in my lifetime, I wouldn't classify anything that has been done in the last 50 years conservative.

I've never heard of the methodist episcopal church. I attend a Free Methodist church and our doctrine does not support abortion.
Sounds like this church just like to make up their own rules regardless of the bible.

It's fairly simple. Black people have more unwanted pregnancies. Combine that with a typically lower socioeconomic standing and you have people that are unfortunately desperate to try and avoid having a child. All of that leads to a support of abortion.

Now, nothing I said is racist at all, so please don't go PC. It's just generally true - however unfortunate it is.

Abortion Rate Among Black Women Far Exceeds Rate for Other Groups

The revelation a few weeks ago that Planned Parenthood employees had encouraged telephone donations from callers hoping to facilitate abortions of black babies — money that was "offered" from members of an anti-abortion group at UCLA — led to a quick apology from the family planning organization. Planned Parenthood said its employees made a "serious mistake" in encouraging the donations.
