Why does the left want to make our country's citizens weak and powerless?

They're only part of the equation, the big banks/corporations are pushing basically EVERYTHING you just complained about. Surveillance? Tons of companies make money off data collection or want to silence their critics. Illegals and low skill 3rd world immigration? Cheap labor. Food stamps and programs? Subsidizes a lot of companies paying their workers peanuts & allows the unemployed to buy a lot of products they otherwise couldn't afford. etc. etc.

Well then they have to stand up to one of the most powerful organizations in this nation. Good luck (she says smiling)

Obama wants Americans weak in body and weak in mind. Why do you think he stopped feeding our public school children good old fashioned comfort food in school. Many of these kids go to school hungry. By the time they get to have lunch, they are so ravenous that they hardly even taste their food. The portions got so small. The current administration has weakened this country, not beyond repair though. the left doesnt want to make our country weak and powerless. you can debate whether gun control actually works or not, but I feel their intentions are good. as far as abortion goes, we don't wage war on the unborn. we just feel it's up to the woman to make the choice whether she wants to have the baby or not. i mean you guys give more rights to an unborn fetus than you do to an woman US citizen. its the mother's decision, not the governments. and I though conservatives preach smaller government. and welfare, perhaps some people become too dependent on it. but people deserve temporary help from the government. some people catch bad breaks.

I agree with you but whatever decision the woman it should be on her dime...not the taxpayers...and I don't mean just abortion I am talking the whole enchilada! She is totally responsible for her birth control and if she chooses to have the financial end as well.
She does have many options it should come down to which one she can live with.
