Why does obama want to give $100 Billion per year of mostly American tax dollars to mostly Africa? China and India's carbon footprint is larger than America's and we're broke by his own doing - does anyone understand this logic?

It's "global redistribution of wealth" - so obama's buddies like goldman sachs can make a lot of money of the backs of the American tax payer.
obama will not be re-elected and congress will not be run by his progressives in 2010!!!!

Abandoning any hope of reaching a comprehensive deal, a group of about 25 countries had sought agreement on a two-page political statement setting out critical elements, key among them the mobilization of $30 billion in the next three years to help poor countries cope with climate change and a scaling up to $100 billion a year by 2020.

This answers covers most of it. This is bs and we all know it. I feel so betrayed. This isn't leadership, this is dictatorship! The Pope declared this is a new world order today. They are not even hiding the fact that this is the agenda. Wake up - lets not all be sheeple! They will have our every freedom and we will be reduced to being nothing but their slaves if we don't stop this madness right now!

By using *our* money to "help" these countries with their global warming problem that is basically the most egregious hoax perpetrated on humanity in our lifetime, Obama is setting himself up to redistribute wealth on the grandest scale imaginable, effectively declaring himself Pope of the World. He doesn't care where the money comes from (us), only that he can use his power to elevate himself to a position where just about everyone in the world feels somehow indebted to his "goodwill." I don't believe he will stop, either, unless drastic measures are taken. This man is a narcissistic megalomaniac that cares nothing about the people in his own country. We are here to be used, to be milked of our resources. And when it's all gone, it's my guess he'll find a new position to nominate himself to. When he was a young boy living with his grandparents in Hawaii, he wrote "King Obama" in wet cement. That just says it all.

WEll it looks like Berry Hoover Obama has found a way to send money back to his homeland. I just wonder what they can call America. At one time we were a developed country but with our jobs all going to China, India and Mexico. and the illegals taking the rest I would say that we are fast becoming an undeveloped country, one only has to look at NO and Michigan and you can see the damage.

There are two important lessons we should take away from the Copenhagen summit:

#1 -- The USA should now be designated as a "developing nation"! It is absurd to think that a country with an "official" national debt of $11 trillion PLUS another $80+ trillion in unfunded liabilities for Social Security, Medicare, etc. is anything but one of the poorest nations on this planet! That makes every man, woman, and child in this nation roughly $300,000 in debt. Name any "Third World" country where that is the case!

#2 -- We need to redefine the use of fossil fuels as "green energy". There! Problem solved. The world just went "green"! The precedent is already set: if we can simply redefine marriage to be something other than a union of one man and one woman, we can redefine "green" as anything we want it to be, too.

Fine. Normally I am a proud RWNJ and Constitutionalist but I support this. All Hillary promised was some of the up to $100 billion/yr would come from the US. Perhaps $10 billion from the US. The US has a $13 trillion economy and a federal budget of $3 trillion. Developing countries can not afford to set aside the forests in the Amazon, Congo, Siberia, etc that seem to provide a lot of benefits to the planet. I am not in favor of giving money to Zimbabwe leaders and such but I am in favor of protecting the planets natural resources and we can't just tell developing countries not to maximize their own resources for growth, we should subsidize them so they don't need to rape their lands.

Teddy Roosevelt, Republican, was our only environmental President and a strong believer in protecting natural resources. I think that he would approve of this. It is a drop in the bucket in our economy and much much more beneficial than almost all that crap that Obama and Congress are spending money on now.

Of course, I am probably naive to think that the $100 billion will be spent wisely or that we will do the other budget cutting things so that the $100 billion won't put us further in debt.

I keep on hearing this stuff. If we didn't have a war we could fix our roads and schools, if we didn't give money to warlords we could feed children, etc. Meanwhile we manage to spend $10 billion a day ($5 billion of it borrowed) and children are not being fed, schools are worthless, and roads are crumbling.

Look up "Global Poverty Act." It's the only piece of legislation the as s h ole in the White House wrote when he was a Senator. It called for the U.S. giving 0.7% of its GDP to the United Nations EVERY YEAR, above and beyond our current level of foreign aid. Obviously, that would never fly. So this is the way the mother fu cker is doing it.

The idea that a government with 11 trillion dollars of debt has ANY money to hand out to other governments is absurd. Obama and the entire Democrat congress should be put in debtor's prison!

Obama's goal is an emergent scheme to sell out this country’s sovereignty in a short four years; then gain support for his delusional perception that America is THE evil world power (libs are still falling all over themselves in orgasm over this guy). His amnesiac-like knowledge of all America has done for the world since WWII is abysmal. What’s the magic number of America tax dollars, mosquito nets and food aid have to go to AFRICA? What’s the saturation point? Didn’t Bush give AFRICA 15 billion for AIDS; a gazillion nets, and more food? Or did it all go to the corrupt, murdering regimes in almost all the African Nations? These people can’t get their lives in order, and have demonstrated no desire to do so; therefore, stop the hemorrhage of dollars to countries that, since the beginning of modern written history, have never fended for themselves. Keep our tax dollars where they belong, HERE!

And what would you estimate the chances are that this debt will ever be repaid? And do you realize that as it climbs higher and higher, the % of the budget consumed by interest on the debt goes higher?

Well, duh, and double-duh - who cares? Folks who invest in our bonds (debt) are betting that at maturity they will be paid in a total amount (the dollars plus interest) that is a profit (at least in terms of the currency values at maturity). It is the government's job to do well enough on this to make these investments pay off. So far, the government has done so, even though overall devaluation through inflation has occurred. An added challenge is that there are always investments available that offer higher returns with higher risks. So far, the U.S. government has competed just fine. The best, in fact.

This is called Capitalism. Risks run for monetary benefits and loses.

Not as bad as in time of WWII??? For only 5-6 years? Are you high?

"The 2010 Budget proposed by President Barack Obama projects significant debt increases, both in terms of dollars and relative to GDP. The debt is projected to nearly double to $20 trillion by 2015, but is expected to increase to nearly 100% of GDP by 2010 and REMAIN at that level thereafter.
These estimates assume real GDP growth (after inflation) ranging from 2.6% to 4.6% annually from 2010 through 2019, which exceeds Blue Chip consensus estimates. During FY 2008, approximately 76.6% of federal spending was in the following categories: Departments of Health and Human Services (19.8%), Defense (20.3%) and Veterans Affairs (11.8%); Social Security Administration (18.2%); interest on the public debt (6.6%)."

    p.s.
"A variety of factors are placing increasing pressure on the value of the U.S. dollar, increasing the risk of devaluation or inflation and encouraging challenges to dollar's role as the world's reserve currency. If another currency or basket of currencies replaced the dollar as the reserve currency, the U.S. would face higher interest rates to attract capital, reducing economic growth for the long-term.

The 2010 U.S. budget indicates annual debt increases of nearly $1 trillion annually through 2019, with an unprecedented $1.0 trillion debt increase in 2009. By 2019 the U.S. national debt will be $18.4 trillion, approximately 148% of GDP, up from its approximately 80% level in April 2009. Further, the subprime mortgage crisis has significantly increased the financial burden on the U.S. government, with over $10 trillion in commitments or guarantees and $2.6 trillion in investments or expenditures as of May 2009, only some of which are included in the budget document.

The U.S. also has a large trade deficit."

NONE of this supports your assertion that collapse and hyperinflation is CERTAIN. All it shows is that we are in a VERY rough patch. You are focusing on an EXTREMELY worst-case scenario that also assumes the government will be criminally stupid in the future. It also seems to accept most previous economic results as OK, while assuming future ones will be awful.

Why should we be as gloomy as you? Why should government govern as if things will be as bad as you say?
