Why do we allow companies to move to China for cheap labor and then let them ship the goods back with no penalty?

Those companies control government and make laws that allow them to maximise profits without regard to any harm it does to the American economy. While operating factories here in the US they made a 15 to 25% profit they can now rake in a 58 to 60 % profit and American take it laying down. They are being screwed and they don't seem to know it. Instead they are side tracked by social issues of no real importance or grab onto the scapgoats that are handed to them. In another time and place it was Jews. Nodays we seem to think labor unions are responsible for our ills while in reality they are workers like us.

unfortunately noone looks into these mishaps, and the govt wants to charge more for taxes, they have to pay their laborers, and chinese work for alot less, politics at its best, plus the politicians get the breaks from these companies, they can stay in office as long as they approve of these policies

They don't actually move to China, but rather contract manufacturing to Chinese companies. If you think China is providing a haven for US companies, think again.

I think a better question would be, "Why can't American companies remain competitive when they use American labor?"

Because if we work for the same wages as the Chinese we will all be below the poverty line. It would not be possible to maintain much of a life style on Chinese wages at American prices. Many Chinese workers are single and young. The live in dorms and go home once per month. It is sort of servitude don't you think? Is that the life we want to Americans to settle for? Before there were unions there were sweat shops with no fire codes, no safety features on machinery, long hours, low pay, no benefits, no pension and an old age of poverty. Are we headed back there?

Freedom permits people from doing that, if you don't like it, don't buy their products.

Are you capable of choosing to not buy those products?

Such as you, clearly. First of all, we wouldn't be able to function without China's imports. But we actually benefit as well as detriment from labor going over seas. We are becoming a more service related industry. Other nations can provide products much more cheaply than we can, which benefits us much more. But, actually, you can blame unions for this issue. The "better" it is for a worker (better wages, safer environment, better benefits they don't have to pay for) the more it costs a company. And thus, it is more logical to move away to another nation that doesn't have these things.

Our goverment is owned by business, and the people just wont wake up
Kill unions, lay off workers, cut taxes save the job creators
Meanwhile they have record profits and only create sweatshop jobs in China

Because the leaders that we elect to serve and protect this country take bribes to serve other foreign interests.

Anybody politician who voted for 'free trade" agreements should be stood up against a wall and shot for treason.

If we would like our products to be sold throughout the world then we would have to let other's products to be sold in our country.

YOU have the option of buying them.
