Why do some keep bringing up reparations, when most Black Americans haven't even considered that thought?

Many ignorant comments by people who either purposely try to paint a false picture due to their own insecurities or are just use to parroting something they heard from race baiting media/politicians.

Whatever the reasoning is, it is becoming quite apparent that many need to either pick up a book or engage in a conversation with Black individuals before spouting off at the mouth.

Case in point the link I gave for an example; one states ship them back to Africa, another states they need to get off their lazy a**es. All in all; how can one go back to where they have never been and do these two people even know the stats on those who work?

Let me lay some facts down for the ignorant:

"According
to the US Census Bureau, 68.1% of all Black men and 62.3% of Black women over
the age of 16 are in the civilian labor force, compared to 73% of white men, and
59.9% of white women.
Of the 42.0 million Blacks in this nation, 8.1 million have
incomes below the poverty line."

Who knows? Why do some people still argue about the black welfare mother having babies to collect more government checks, or use the Black Panthers as an example of rampant hatred toward whites, or complain that black people can use the word cracker but they can't use the word n**ger, or get upset because the gif of Obama as an ape they posted was taken as racist by someone? I suspect the answer is all of the above.

I have noticed a thought process many people share on this site and it is usually the kind of person we're talking about. They seem to think their personal opinions are as valid as facts and must be treated with respect no matter what that opinion is. Because they have the right to say it, that alone makes if right.

How many polls have you done similar to this Latrice? Full of facts, logical, well reasoned, with all the back up sources given. And how many times has someone argued that you are wrong with nothing to add besides, "I don't agree!"

Preach Latrice! I'm willing to bet that most of these trolls have never met a black person in real life, let alone have an actual conversation with him or her. My favorite are those people who try to tell me what I like, listen to, or vote for. Ignorance is everywhere.

Most people I think are just concerned with their day to day life, go to work, pay bills, try to make the best of their life. If you don't somehow reach out to them in public service announcements, advertising, etc... they'll never research a lot of stuff on their own to become more aware and knowledgeable about any given topic, which for sensitive issues it can be troubling because one may see it as racism when usually it is just they're too involved in their own life to learn of others.

    Blame.

Someone has to blame someone/something for their problems. I also blame the media in part, look at how stereotypical shows are and even commercials. I think it is party from the social normality, but a big part of it is on purpose to keep people down.

    Obama doesn't support reparations:

    http://www.factcheck.org/2009...

"We’ve had several queries about this claim, starting in early February not long after President Barack Obama was inaugurated. Some versions of the e-mail maintain (falsely) that a bill to investigate possible reparations for slavery was part of the new administration’s stimulus legislation. All carry the subject line "It didn’t take long, did it?" implying none too subtly that Obama, motivated by race, is somehow behind it. He isn’t."

In this view, the following deeds are insufficient to balance the ledger between America and the descendants of slaves: the Civil War, the ratification of the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments, Brown v. Either way, we need to wake up. It's not about hating or becoming racist to anybody, I just believe that we need to start investing in our own communities, remember back in the days where it was the community who helped raise our children and looked out for each other, I remember those days. I like to spend my money in the black communities, if I'm going to make somebody wealthy I personally would rather them be black. Our ancestors made many of these generations of white people rich today " I'm not being racist" I just don't want to contribute to that.
