I am a libertarian myself, and while I support Gov. Johnson, I can also empathize with the Ron Paul supporters. However, I think they do need to realize eventually that there is no way the Republican Party is ever going to treat libertarians as anything more than second class citizens from a political context.
They are better than dealing with democrats for sure, but the only way we are going to grow as a movement is to do so on our own, not riding on the coat tails of the Republicans.
Why do Ron Paul supporters say that the people want Ron Paul?

Don't you think that if the "people" wanted Ron Paul he would've won a primary or two?

Its because...

As far as believing in the IRS? what does that mean?
He spoke out many times against the Fed, where have you been during the debates?
He support income tax meaning he supports the IRS. We need to abolish income tax....
Romney said the fed should not push for stimulus, but that from what I understand is as far as he went. Please share a link that says he did more than that...
He says that taxes and regulations are strangling the economy, but he does not want to get rid of them. He wants to change them.
He say he will lower the income tax for everyone and to get rid of the regulations that are strangling all the businesses, not merely change it.

If we actually have a small government (like what Romney claims he wants) we could afford the government without income tax. We did it for years before 1913...
The link you provided is written by Lori Montgomery a known Liberal.
Here is what Newsbuster wrote about her.
WaPo Slips Liberal Dogma Into Report on Tax Cuts: GOP Trying to 'Deprive' Treasury
In general, there are two major sides to the tax cut debate.
One believes that Americans are entitled to keep what they earn, but that they cede some money to the government with the understanding that funding is necessary to enable the state to safeguard citizens' rights - the state's most fundamental function.
The opposing side holds, in short, that Americans are entitled to their wealth only to the extent that the rule of the majority - i.e. the government - allows them to keep it.
The Washington Post has apparently adopted and endorsed this latter view, also known as liberal tax policy, not only in its editorial stance, but throughout its "straight news" reporting operation.
WaPo reporter Lori Montgomery, for instance, believes that every dollar not collected in taxes is a dollar of which the federal government has been "deprived."

Just a few facts that you might want to know.
It is easy to say you want anything, it is another thing to actually do what is necessary to achieve it.
So no, I don't dream of it or wish it on anyone pal, and that's the difference between people like you and I. I simply put it there for you because I could tell you are an angry belligerent barroom brawl type who has irrational wet dreams about eagerly going below the belt to slander and attack others the split second that you get confused or others don't completely agree or comply with your childish little thug opinions and desires.
Enjoy!

Anyway, it's not necessarily what the people want, it's what they need. A decent jab of self-responsibility.
