During alcohol prohibition it was perfectly legal to have alcohol and drink alcohol. Only the sale and manufacture of alcohol was banned. At least they had the decency to respect people who enjoy a beer in their home. With marijuana prohibition its totally different. They dont just ban the sale and manufacture but also the possession and use of marijuana. Anyone that uses it can go to jail but but no one went to jail for simple possession of alcohol during alcohol prohibition. When alcohol prohibition ended they didnt just allow 1 liter or half a gallon of alcohol as the maximum your allowed to have, when it ended, anyone who wants alcohol can have an unlimited amount. Not like these fake marijuana bills that only allow 1 ounce or less. President FDR campaigned on ending alcohol prohibition when he ran for president in 1932 and no one looked at him like an alcoholic or screamed to protect the children from alcohol. if Obama or anyone running for president campaigned on ending marijuana prohibition, they would think hes a stoner and theyed be screaming about the children and stoned drivers.
No one had their houses raided for enjoying a cold beer during alcohol prohibition.
Why do people compare the 2 when its like comparing a butterknife to a chainsaw?
