With only 13 cases of voter fraud in the past decade, Republicans have yet to show what the problem is.

Dont know but Im glad you said liberals instead of a blanket Democrat statement, most of the Democrats in my state support voter ID laws.
  • Quazimoto 2012/08/06 16:42:56
It is because they know they can't win without illegal votes.
    Quazimoto
It will cut their voting block up to 50%.

It's because there's no reason to have voter ID laws, and the people that are trying to bring it to Penn. just said the same thing. LOL.

There's no reason in the world for voter ID laws to be around now, considering there's not been one case of mass voter fraud that could point to a need in changing current legislation.

I think it's 75% just grubbing for votes, regardless of what citizenship the democratic voter may hold. 25% is a sincere (but delusional) belief that they are back fighting Jim Crow.

Voter fraud is the new GOP hanging chad ... it is used to disenfranchised democratic voters ... ReTHUGlican know that is the only way to have a chance of winning ... not going to work ....

If they can get out to vote, how hard is it to go get a free voter id? ID will hamper the left's
stealing of the election. Dead people and illegals might be identified.

"C" is for corruption, Chicago, Collectivism,Communism,Code(P... (and other Marxist Practices, (Political) Correctness, Civil "(unending) imaginary) Rights"and other political Chicanery, all central to the Democratic Party Political Agenda. What Country LovingAmerican in his/her right mind would vote for this? So it becomes necessary for the Democratic to resort to "alternate means"...character assassination, race baiting, illegal Aliens voting, multiple voting, deceased voters, ficticious voters, let alone those too ignorant to know what they are voting for. Witness the Democratic Victories of Landslide Lyndon Johnson, the Kennedy election returns from Chicago in1960, people who register their dog to vote,as recently reported in the Press and the list goes on.

because you are trying to purge legal voters, not illegals. it's you who can't win fairly. look at the final election tally in florida in 2000. by every measure, gore won the election, but you had the benefit of 5 ideologues who appointed your hero of the stupid, president.

Thats one voter, and all you have to do to clear it up is go show ID.

so you then would be ok with police arbitrarily stopping you, taking you to jail, and forcing you to prove you were sober before you were released?

Thats criminal prosecution. The example is ludicrous.

More like. A library not letting me check out a book until I show my card. I am fine with that.
  • Raymond... ☆ElenaD... 2012/07/23 22:25:05
    Raymond Allamby
that's not criminal prosecution. that's simply being detained for suspicion. an unfounded suspicion at that. apparently you don't understand the law, either.

No you are being held for criminal purposes. Being suspected of a crime. That is the example you used.
  • Raymond... ☆ElenaD... 2012/07/23 22:38:17
    Raymond Allamby
and being accused of voter fraud is not being accused of a crime? in your logic? because that's what being challenged on your identity is.
  • ☆ElenaD... Raymond... 2012/07/23 23:00:36
    ☆ElenaDiamond☆

No. It is simply verifying that you are in fact who you say you are. Like when you get your drivers license or passport.
  • Raymond... ☆ElenaD... 2012/07/23 23:23:58
    Raymond Allamby
how about the fact that they already verified their identities when they registered? that's the law, by the way. and you still haven't answered me about the far larger and more insidious problem, election fraud.
  • ☆ElenaD... Raymond... 2012/07/23 23:41:08

You don't verify your identity when you register. Who told you that?
  • Raymond... ☆ElenaD... 2012/07/23 23:45:40

i registered when i got my license. everyone i know had to show id when they registered. btw, how do you show an id when you vote absentee? where do you live that you don't show id to register?

Because it is a crime. Not the same thing at all. They aren't accused of anything.
  • Raymond... ☆ElenaD... 2012/07/24 02:06:26
    Raymond Allamby
    +1
not the same thing. no, it's not. it's far far worse. in 7 years, with 93 federal prosecutors, bush was only able to prosecute 24 cases of voter fraud. most of those were felons who didn't realize they weren't allowed to vote in their states. however, a case of election fraud could shift an election completely around in a few minutes. of the 2 potential issues, which do you really think is the greater danger? type "red shift" with quotes in google. and you'll see how many exit polls were totally different than the final outcome. historically, exit polls were extremely accurate, until recent years.

the point is that you are floating a red herring to purge democratic, legal voters. while at the same time approving of massive election fraud.
