Why do liberals love personal attacks?

I don't understand it personally. I think I need a liberal to come out and spill the beans. Why does every liberal debate like a pissed off prom queen? When they are even slightly losing a debate or even come across any form of conflicting opinion they turn nasty. They'll debate....but almost like a cue .....there will always be at least one personal attack in their rant. Usually a really off color one about intelligence like they are the only group allowed to have an opinion. Does that seem extremely bigoted to anyone else
It get's worse. I know quite a few liberals and while some are nice, many in fact, are the same way offline. It's their way or the highway....and if you are not on their "highway"...you are automatically ignorant or a radical. What's up that shit??
So I want to know, and I want a liberal to explain to me why this is so. Why do conservatives always seem to take the high ground and the liberals the low ground? We all have opinions right? Is there some sort of liberal handbook we're all missing that says "step 4 insult the person you are debating"? "step 5 act immature and whiny".
What gives liberals??

☆astac☆ 2012/10/28 15:41:28+10When they lack facts, and only repeat the lies from team obama and the DNC, they realize that they are out-classed. Hence they resort to insults and attacks. Then when you add their outright hatred of Christians, and their hatred of a moral society, you can see why they become so hateful towards those that hold a different opinion.

5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”
Obama has been basically running on rule #5 and little else. You can see, it's not working.
"Why do conservatives always seem to take the high ground and the liberals the low ground?" That has not been my observation at all, on SH or in 'real life'.
OH CAL!! YOU ARE ADORABLE!!!!!
I know it's hilarious how folks on this thread make a slew of attacks, slinging insults and calling names left and right, trying to point out how the other "side"... attacks, insults and calls people names! ROFL! Here's just a few of the (from this post alone) direct quotes of folks calling themselves "conservatives, taking the high road"! LOL!
- "how IGNORANT they are"
- "devolve straight downwards to the Slander/libel"
- "libs are very nasty for the most part"
- "They always have to win or get the last word"
- "all they can do to relive their frustration is use personal attacks"
- "The answer is in their "rules for idiots" handbook"
- "All Liberals do is lie and attack"
- "Because the two remaining brain cells left in their heads are in a fight to the death."
- "Liberals, especially liberal progressives believe they are better than everyone else."
- "they are ruled by ideology and do not use common sense and think analytically."
- "They were either born that way or dropped on their heads when they were babies"
- (This is my favorite) "Name calling is the last refuge of the ignorant."
- (This is pretty funny also) - "name calling, insults and character assassination is all they have"
Asking this question simply shows your bias, you only witness wrong doing from the other side but ignore it when it happens on your side.
No offense...but you don't know me. You know nothing about me. Absolutely zero. Yet you claim such things....with no evidence at all. The fact that you directed it at me is simply amazing. You know why? Most certainly because you have just followed the long line of liberals proving the point of this poll.
"No offense...but you don't know me. You know nothing about me. Absolutely zero. Yet you claim such things....with no evidence at all"
The evidence is what I just presented in the previous statement, you don't know every liberal, yet you claim that they take the "low road" and that you take the "high road". Can't you yourself see the bias in that statement?
Apparently "personal insult" to you seems to mean "disagrees with me" in which case I can see how you came to the conclusion that liberals insult you personally. Also, I'm not a liberal.
1) It isn't a personal attack if what we are saying is true, even if it ins't nice. The conservative movement is filled with incredibly stupid people (ex. Bachmann), and incredibly corrupt politicians (ex. Daryl Issa)--while this isn't the whole party, it is a significant and dominant chunk or it and our pointing these peoples' flaws out is merely an expression of fact.
2) Every politician uses some degree of attack against opposing ideologies, not just liberals. Objectively speaking, most liberals suck at attacking and cannot hold a candle to the corporate-funded attack machines of the right (case in point: the "SwiftBoat Veterans"). For everything that the liberals do, the conservatives do worse, more, and more viciously (something that I am working change).
As to conservatives taking the high road: this is patently ridiculous. It wasn't the liberals who ran endless attack ads that speciously claim Obama to be foreign or illegitimate for years after his election. It wasn't liberals who impeached a Democratic president for having an affair while simultaneously having affairs of their own.
Here are a few examples of Bachmann's lunacy: http://politicalhumor.about.c...
As for Issa, he was a car thief, and he eventually moved his way up to insurance fraud (burning down his warehouse), intimidation (threatening an ex-employee who was going to sue him with a gun) and money laundering. Issa's only redeeming characteristic is that he is intelligent and was able to avoid directly incriminating himself in everything but the insurance fraud (which he settled out of court by forfeiting the insurance money).
"To vilify a great man is the readiest way in which a little man can himself attain greatness."

This lawsuit will go the way of the insane truther suits and will never really accomplish anything.
Realistically, I would look at the CA imminent domain case for a way to reclaim mortgages for people--have the government claim foreclosed houses under imminent domain, buy them for below current market value (dirt cheap), and sell them back to previous the owners at cost; this would cost the taxpayers nothing, and would fix a vast amount of our housing crises.
