Why didn't Obama go with Hillary to Israel? In your opinion.

Fear that he would be a target for getting killed Hilary is expendable to the Obama white house.

Isn't it called delegating and don't good leaders do that to accomplis all that needs to be done?

I'm relatively sure that he's been informed that even with the secret service at his side his safety can't be entirely guaranteed. After all, even Yitzhak Rabin who was a hawk, and a warrior, was killed by a right wing Israeli extremist for signing the Oslo accords. Obama has been told in no uncertain terms, "You better not go to Israel"...anyway that's my theory.

There are other people in key positions so the President doesn't HAVE to do things like that. Imo it would be totally stupid to send both of them.

Because the war making of Israel and Hamas are not of sufficient concern or importance to the world for the POTUS to become personally involved. They will be doing their warring
for decades to come, as long as they can each get some "aid" from America when the periodic "fighting" is most noticeable. I think most of our citizens are totally tired of this
war making and couldn't care much less how it turns out. They can either settle the arguments between themselves or bear the consequences. Let it be over.

He was at the East Asia summit plus she is the defense minister isn't she ? Our PM would t go.

And he doesn't HAVE to go to the Middle East. By sending Ms. Clinton, his amazing and extremely capable Secretary of State, he's is tending to Israel among his myriad responsibilities.

He did not feel that his presence was necessary, and obviously, he has trust in the abilities of his Secretary of State to present the concerns and the positions of his administration.

Because if he did, someone would have asked: "Why did Obama go to Israel in spite of the problems we have here in the US?".

He's never been to Israel as President once, Netanyahu and Israelis know where his allegience lies since Egypt's "Arab Spring".

The Secretary of State is more often than not the one who is sent on diplomatic missions, I'll call them. Normal procedure.

He must think it's beneath him to go there, as he's gone to every other place around the world, even Burma/Myanmar.

Hillary fills that position for a reason.

But, that's not really a story - it's life - and the right will never understand what it takes sometimes to encourage peace and to stop violence against Americans in North Africa and the Middle East.
