Why are Tea'vangelicals hell bent on codifiying their religious beliefs into law? And why is the American public allowing it?

This country was founded under the auspices and belief that there should be a firewall between church and state. It is the core belief that can be traced all the back to this country's original Puritan roots, even before independence was declared from the crown.

In 2010, the American public witnessed the mass radical takeover of state houses across this nation by Tea'vangelicals. In their campaigns they promised a renewed focus on the economy and job creation. What the American people got instead was a concerted effort to codify and impose their religious beliefs onto others.

The American people have seen the exact same thing from the newly elected freshman class of Tea'vangelicals that were elected to the House of Representatives.

Over the past two years, these destroyers of separation of church and state have been laser focused on creating laws that change social policy to their liking or brand of tea if you will.

Why are we allowing a group of right wing social radicals or "Tea'vangelicals", tear down what this country has believed in since it's very inception?

Really little miss haughty boastful arrogant Christian you know what the bible says about your attitude you repeatedly have shown to me.....

3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Yes, they should be mandated to pay for them. They are part of our society. There are people who use horses and buggies but they still have to pay taxes for roads and bridges. They still have to pay sales tax.

I know you didnt ask me the question but i couldnt help but jump in.... Ahhh hello, in PA, DE, MD and a few other states have plenty of pious religions like Quakers, Hutterites and Amish that unlike Tea'vangelicals really adhere to every aspect of heir faith and despite having electricity, cars & mass transit available and legal for their use but they don't indulge in these worldly things!

They do still adhere to the secular laws of the land that require them to pay taxes based on their interactions with the secular world because they are part of the American society. So they manage to pay taxes for plenty of things they DECIDE NOT to use because their faith prevents it!

You do realize that is is 2012 and not 1972 and 28 day birth control pills are not the only or typical birth control method used by women today right???

Im sure you have not been near a woman who still ovulates in some decades and that's why your knowledge base is pretty antiquated, but i can assure you that as a woman in my prime, I think I know more about womens reproduction and gynecological needs than you do!

Obviously, they are incapable of saying no, they are unable to cross their legs and can have sex whenever they GD well please. Therefore, everyone should have to pay for their birth control options. It's pretty straight-forward.

The full picture is obviously irrelevant to you I see. And all you need if an intelligent sounding sound bite to fuel your Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Otherwise you would know that President Obama father had 7 children by 4 different women. You would have also payed attention to the fact that his father left him and his mother when he was only a few weeks old and would not see him again until he was a teen. And that meeting was only a few days. He may have shared DNA with that man but he did not know him. His sister and siblings by his mother are intimately involved in his life.

And Dysouza is nothing more than a 2 bit propagandist who would not have given a rats ass about that man if if his last name wasn't Obama!

Listen madam, I worked very hard for everything I have. I have never received any kind of public assistance.

What makes me different from the likes of you is that I don't look down my nose at or talk about people that do or have a need to seek public assistance with disdain.

What makes me different is that I don't hold greed, selfishness and self service as virtues as you seem to.

What makes me different from you is that I understand that I am blessed to have what I have and know that it only take one stint fnbad luck from outward factors I can't control to change my world as I know it. And because of that I have no problem paying as much as I do in taxes to the social safety net because it will be there for me if I ever need it.

There but for the grace of God I go.... You should try remembering that sometime.

I understand the difference between enabling and dependency and lending a hand. Sometimes there is a fine line between helping and enabling. After raising five college educated children I have down sized my life to the minimum and am now able to offer support services to many. I also have spent time in social services - so I understand the needs of the needy very much.

I am all for helping and caring for people. My sister in law is the head of a large county social services agency in CA. You don't want to hear her stories dear. She would sound absolutely ruthless to you. Her husband, a cop - is even more so. They see "everything" first hand and know the costs.

I question whether their motive is religious or political. I wish they were aware that
Church and State are forever separated in the Constitution. Sometimes I think they are
so unsure of their positions that they use religion to back up their ideas.

when the govt says taht murder and theivery is against the law it is telling you how to live their lives and when you must wear a seatbelt and pay taxes and can be jailed for improper conduct-that has always been the govts' job - Evangelicals believe in following Gods laws and the world want to follow the devil-- no one can force their faith on anyone-that is impossible...d .sr

The law says if you DECIDE to murder a living breathing birthed human being, you will be punished accordingly. You believe that life starts at egg fertilization. That is fine and YOUR belief. You can also choose not to ever have an abortion because of your beliefs. No one is forcing you or anyone else to have an abortion.

You, however do not get to write your narrow beliefs into law which in turn will impact my ability to elect to have an abortion if I deem it is the best decision for my life, select the method of birth control that is right for my life or take advantage of medical advancements in fertility treatments!

Who are you to legislate my life based on your personal beliefs?!?
  • Geenie ... den 2012/08/26 00:23:04
    Geenie Nabottle
Tea'vangelicals are some of the loudest voices complaining and crying constitutional freedom foul when the first lady ENCOURAGES NOT LEGISLATES eating healthier for children in the face of a childhood obesity epidemic....

Yet they are the same ones DEMANDING AND LEGISLATING that my freedom to use the birth control method of my choosing or access to fertility treatment be taken away.

So you are declaring that abortion, the evasive kind.... pulling a fetus from the wall of it’s' life support, is a form of birth control then? I thought that the pill and other devices were supposed to be used for preventing that?

And WHERE do Republicans prevent women from taking birth control pills, please? Thank you for your response.
  • Geenie ... Old Salt 2012/08/26 19:49:40 (edited)
    Geenie Nabottle
No I clearly made a deliniation between elective abortion and birth control! Please try to keep up!

Personhood amendments and life at conception laws impact a woman's ability to use Interuterine Devices to prevent becoming pregnant. See what ignorant narrow minded men such as yourself don't understand is that this method of birth control is inserted in the uterus and will stay there for in some instances up to 5 years. It works by preventing a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus wall. The fertilized egg, instead of becoming a fetus is shed with the woman's normal menstral cycle. It is really popular with millions married women (AND THEIR HUSBANDS) who have children and would prefer not to increase the size of their families!

These personhood amendments and life at conception laws also impact a woman's ability to access emergency contraception so that she wont get pregnant and put in a situation where abortion is considered.

See according to these narrow-minded republican since life and personhood begins at conception it would make IUD's & emergency contraception illegal and criminal to prescribe or use since it would impact the fertilized egg that according to them is a "person" !
