Why are record numbers of Americans renouncing their citizenship?

well 1,800 isn't much in any case but you can track to Obama Paranoia, IRS Paranoia, IRS regulations that are real and a growing awareness that you can renounce your citizenship.

When they see how bad the rest of the world is doing..they'll be back.

I guess as long as the rest of the world declines too the USA will be the best place to live.

Obama wants us to keep in step with the 3rd world

The rest of the world is waiting for us to do our duty and get O out of the Oval Office; just like 1980 when the Iranians saw Reagan coming, the whole world snapped to attention. The rest of the world will follow suit when we start back on the "RIGHT" road.

That's why I'm voting for Paul. Many think he is weak but, that is the wrong conclusion. He want to lead by the constitution. He want to go to war only after he gets a "LEGAL" declaration of war from congress. He just want to stop spending so much money all over the world, secure our borders, stop the growing national debt, return cicil liberties and freedom to the American people, down size federal Government, return sovereignty to the states.

It saddens me that SOOOOOOOO many Americans are just Constitutionally illiterate; they are just not bright enough to realize what it was like for our founding to DIE for our Constitution. Now a candidate who espouses the Constitution is considered unelectable.

It's for sure the socialists are talking about fighting for their agenda everyday; the New Black Panthers, Union thugs, Farrakan followers, Jeremiah Wright and his ilk are back.

They are just the little guys who will kick it off. The real threat is when barry declares martial law (he want to) and bring the military in. In those first days it will be rough but, the military will realize that what they are doing to the people is also being done to their families back home. They will go home to protect their families and then we will have real civil war with the government and socialist supporters. I don't predict a long fight but, holding election and reorganizing society will take a little while.

That's why the socialists want to dissolve the Marine Corps; they know the Marines will never turn on its people. Barry may be as insane as Hitler was but he has no clout with the military, they hate him.

I was working in Louisiana during/after Katrina. If people think the military won't turn on the American people the better think a little more. Most, not all of our military members are thoughtless puppets who are told what to think. I am a former Ranger so I am familiar with the military. It wouldn't take long though and they would figure it out. We also have many thousands of foreign troops serving here and you can bet that's not by chance. It's so mind blowing how naïve the majority of people are. There is another blog on SH talking about the Executive Order Obarry signed about 3 weeks ago. Most are fussing about parts but don't seem to realize the the combination of that order and NDAA makes our constitution a historical artifact. Our constitution is completely void. The constitution is not "being" destroyed. It is now useless and void of any powers or protections. The only way we could ever get it back is fight for it the same way our forefathers fought for it. Blood has to be spilled. Or we can be like the jews in Germany and not lift a hand in resistance. I don't like the way that worked out for them so I think I will resist.

Well, there's nothing to be proud of after the idiot has turned this country into a 3rd world country and we are not the most powerful country in the world. I was born in the USA fought for the USA but I will NOT renounce my citizenship.
We just have to get the trash out of the White House and our problems will be over.

As for the guys handing in their green cards, they must have read the memo that states, 'if you're an illegal alien and don't commit any other crime, you are not a priority for this government to deport.' The other citizens that have renounced it must not see any benefit to it and would rather maintain their own.

If Canada becomes what America is trying to do with Obama as President, I will go to Australia. I'll keep moving until I find a place that believes the people should be feared byt he government and FREE.

I don't know - I lived in Canada (and briefly in Australia) and I think Obama wants us to be more like them at least in taxation and health care. PS---Canada has 2.5X the immigration rate of the US, and speaks two official languages and has a bunch more semi - official for the 'First Nations Peoples' (Natives). And if you want to call what the Australians speak - go for it!

If you like Canada, you have to like Cold weather, and a friend of mine comes here for most of the year to work!!
