Reagan, hands down. You're talking the best President in the last 50 years versus the worst! Not even a comparison. I thought Carter was bad until Obama came along and he makes Carter look like a moderate!

It depends. Better at producing policies that denigrate and divide the people and the purpose of government or promote to enhance the purpose of government, and still divide the people.

Are you kidding me? Regan helped this country and worked out their problems. Obama's creating the problems instead.

Here's some facts: Reagan took down the Russian wall in Germany by matching Russia dime by dime.Reagan took us out of the recession that Carter started. Reagan killed a terrorist along with his followers and he did it without asking permission which would take maybe months to do.

That's a ridiculous assertion. First of all, Carter was a moderate, centrist liberal. Obama is by no means a liberal (although he does talk like one when he's in campaign mode), he's a center-right, conservative.

Secondly, take a close look at Reagan's policies and Obama's policies, vis-a-vis both domestic and foreign, and you'll find amazing similarities: they both follow free market policies destructive of the American middle class (to be fair, Reagan instigated them and Obama merely follows them); they both pursue terrorist foreign policies (again, Reagan instigated them and Obama merely follows them); and they both have exponentially increased the National Debt (Reagan with his massive military build-up - actually started by Carter in his last year in office - and Obama by continuing the disastrous financial policies initiated by Reagan and Clinton).

You're talking mythology, son, not history.

You're delusional. Carter's policies helped the start the recession that Reagan ended in less than 2 years. Reagan had 8 years, but Obama had only 3 and a half. Clinton had 8 years too, but he also increased the debt almost as much a Reagan.
  • norman ray 2012/06/27 17:19:39

I'm sorry but you are wrong. Reagan actually began a recession in 1981/82 as a reaction to rising levels of inflation. And in regards to Clinton, you are so completely wrong, you're not even playing in the same ball park. Clinton was the only president in the last 35 years that didn't raise the National Debt and he was the only president in the last 35 years that managed to have a balanced budget. As to Obama's raising of the debt, he's merely following the Reagan/Clinton/Bush free market stupidity that created the mess to begin with. I'm not defending Obama, personally I find him as repugnant, politically, as I did Reagan, Clinton and the two Bushes.

See, this is what happens when you're fed a steady diet of propaganda and crapaganda from the mainstream media for most of your life, without bothering to actually take the time to study history: when someone actually cites reality, you call them delusional.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Part of the problem in the 80s was the effects of the ongoing reaction to stagflation, which started wtih the oil crisis in 1973 and reached its peaks during 1974 and 1979. Actually, the economy even before that, during the Vietnam War, was not so hot either.

Clinton raised the debt by over a trillion. It was $4.145 trillion and he raised it to $5.95 trillion.

You're uneducated and apparently need a history lesson.

I don't know where I can begin to correct your blatant misrepresenting of the facts, so I won't bother. It amazes me to think that people such as yourself can think that people will actually take your last statements seriously! They are so completely false, I think perhaps you ought to apply for a job in the Obama Administration. You would fit right in!
