Rush Limbaugh: A fat, ugly, vitriolic, druggie, draft dodging cowardly blowhard windbag of hot gas who's fame and fortune hails from pandering to the bottomfeeders of society who feel their failures and woes are always someone else fault. "Someone else" is always different from them from race and religion to political views. Limbaugh's contributions to America, the world, society, and humanity in general amount to a little less than a hot steaming pile of excrement.

The Republican Party has gone so very far to the right that only Rush would satisfy the howlers at the grass roots. Colin Powell is far too level headed for that group. He might even go as far as Jeb Bush did and use the word compromise. HEAVEN FORBID!!

Doing good here, hope it's the same with you. Summer is in full swing, and we're supposed to get dangerous heat indices tomorrow (as high as 110). My sister, who lived for nearly 20 years in the tropics, will probably be wandering around saying "Heat? What heat?" Lol.

One of my nieces lives in Chicago now, and the temperatures up there have often been higher than what we're having here in Kentucky. The weather has certainly been weird lately. It's interesting that the democrats didn't throw Lieberman to the wolves when he supported McCain. When Lieberman lots the democratic primary in 2006 not one Democratic leader came out to support the person who won the democratic primary.

Smart working and middle class Republicans know the Republican Party kicked General Powell to the curb when they knew there were no weapons of mass destruction but had George Tenet lie to Powell so Powell would unknowing lie to the United Nations on behalf of the Bush administration/Republican Party. Powell's endorsement of Obama isn't because Obama is black, but because Powell knows Republican's are war-mongers.

Powell's speech to the UN was February of 2003, March 20, 2003 was the invasion date of Iraq and November of 2004 Powell resigned. I think that by the time he realized he had been duped by the Republicans and made to look like he was part of the deception his term was almost over so he waited. My thought is by finishing his term he could at least be part of the conversation and hopefully have some influence but I understand your sentiment about losing respect. I don't agree with you, he hasn't lost any respect in my eyes but I understand why some would feel that way.
