Who would have thought you could be arrested In Toronto for walking your dog on Al-Quds Day?

Quietman ~PWCM~JLA 2012/08/20 20:17:05
"I was arrested at the rally for, "offending Islam" by walking in a PUBLIC park with my dog. Apparently, Muslims do not like dogs. I was warned by a few demonstrators not to go near them. Of course I ignored them and reminded them this is Canada, not Pakistan. Well I was assaulted and returned the favor in kind.

muslims dogs warned demonstrators reminded canada pakistan assaulted returned favor

At that point I was jumped by four COPS, dragged off and hand cuffed. Oh my the police were so angry! They said I was, "insensitive" and "inciting a riot". 30 minutes later they cut me a big deal. No charges if I left. So I left. Imagine this happening in Canada? Walking a licensed dog on a leash at the park in front of our Provincial Legislature and being arrested for that simple act!"

NB: This is a therapy dog. Works at hospitals.

Dogs are generally not allowed in many of our parks, especially in the areas reserved for kids.

I think that the next time you take your dog for a walk you should also be with someone walking a pig

That's terrible and unjustified. But I can't help feeling there might be more to this story.

Did the dog intimidate anyone, was the owner looking for trouble and following the crowd with the dog? Often, I noticed people go into this Muslim rallies looking to start something.

There was one Muslim rally being held which 6 men decide to intrude on and start insulting the workers there and telling them they should be ashamed while the people were just trying to have a nice peaceful day to celebrate their religion/culture, they kept video taping the workers and yelling at them with insults against the religion, telling them that they were evil, and there were children around too. Eventually one of the workers decided to call security and explained that they felt uncomfortable with the 6 men, the security said that they don't want any trouble and told the 6 men that it would be wise for them to leave.

The next day the men started a huge dealing about it, using it as an example on how "Muslims don't like free speech and want to censor everyone" even though I think what they did was obviously unreasonable, no matter what rally they might have gone to.

Watch the interview. One thing to note is that the Al Quds were protesting Jews. So there were other people there supporting Jews. That's the right of both groups. The dog did absolutely nothing. He's a service dog and didn't even become aggressive when the man was hit and being arrested.

I also find it ridiculous that this dog owner got arrested, but
    a) we've only heard one side of the story and don't know what really happened there, and
    b) some people are afraid of dogs, which should be respected by dog owners imho.

I've grown up with a medium-sized dog. Since my parents and I lived in a rural area, I often let her off the leash when I took her for a walk, and I've encountered several (non-Muslim) hikers who shouted from afar "please leash your dog and don't let it come near me". The dog was well-behaved didn't look dangerous or anything, but they might have had bad experiences with dogs in the past.

It would have never occured to me to deliberately scare a cynophobic person, and I really can't understand this dog owner's "of course I ignored them" attitude. This has nothing to do with the Muslim protest, mind you. I simply think that a person who deliberately walks their giant dog into a crowd after being asked to keep a distance is a bit of an a**hole. But that's no reason to arrest him of course.

Canada needs to get rid of the stupid European style "Human Rights" laws. Adapt the American view. Free speech, even offensive speech is protected.

That may happen soon. There is an ugly rumor going around that obammy and company are preparing for a major disaster....what kind? who knows, but you can be they will be the cause. My fear is that obammy will declare martial law. He signed an executive order allowing him total control over EVERYTHING including the internet, if there was a major 'threat' to America. Problem is, he is the major threat and we have no defense against him if we don't get him out of office now.
If we succeed, we still have to contend with the ugly he will do during 'lame duck'. That is scary, indeed.

I hope you are right. But, obummer has alot of weird backing. Such as the Black Panthers, and lets not forget the Mulsim Brotherhood and CAIR to name a few. I am planning to buy a gun, soon. Not saying I am going after anyone, just for my own protection as I live alone.

I own several guns and rifles. I don't hunt, but I love to target shooting. Trust me, once you buy a gun you'll feel safer, however..........you need to get training and practice shooting the gun. I would also recommend buying a shotgun. Just the sound of the clicking mechnisam to a robber or anyone else will make them think twice about doing anything stupid.

Thanks, I do know how to shoot. I was a correctional officer in the 80's. Yes, you are very right about shotguns and yes, I do want one. And I am not going to buy bird shot.
I am not a hunter either, but as a single woman, I would feel much better taking my own protection into my hands. obummer is not going to protect us as he is trying to destroy us.
I (briefly) say a commentary on cnn complaining that Americans have more guns than the rest of the world combined. mmmmm sounds good to me. Only a panty waste liberal would think it is wrong. Or, as my father used to call them; pinko commie bast*rds. lol

I am new to this area and don't know many people, but I don't like going alone, so I am going to ask a co-worker to go with me. Yep, she is a democrat. Should be interesting...lol

In Washington, D.C. an old priest lay dying in the hospital.
    > For years he had faithfully served the people of the nation's capital and was well known among the elected officials.
    > He motioned for his nurse to come near.
    > "Yes, Father?" said the nurse.
    >
    > "I would really like to see President Obama and Senator Reid before I die," whispered the priest.
    >
    > The nurse sent the request to The President and Congress and waited for a response. Soon the word arrived; President Obama and Harry Reid would be delighted to visit the priest.
    >
    > As they went to the hospital, Obama commented to Reid , "I don't know why the old priest wants to see us, but it will certainly help our images and might even get me re-elected."
    > Reid agreed that it was a good thing.
    > When they arrived at the priest's room, the priest took Obama's hand in his right hand and Reid's hand in his left hand.
    > There was silence and a look of serenity on the old priest's face.
    > Finally President Obama spoke. "Father, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to be with you as you near the end?"
    >
    > The old priest slowly replied, "I have always tried to pattern my life after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
    >
    > "Amen", said Obama.
    >
    > "Amen", said Reid.
    >
    > The old priest continued, "Jesus died between two lying thieves; I would like to do the same."
