Who will win the swing states and the presidency, Obama or Romney?

With a slow recovery, many swing states have elected GOP governors and legislatures. There has been severe buyers remorse in most of them lagging behind the country in job creation, workers rights taken away, voting registration becoming harder and their war on women. Gov. Walker is being recalled, Kasich had GOP overreach overturned by referendum. FL, WI has had near the bottom in job creation, VA, PA had ultrasounds making decision for a woman about her own body. Gov. Snyder told people your vote for local officials mean nothing in America. All have said assemblies (unions) have no right to petition the government (no collective bargaining).

As far as the election and whom will win swing states some links.

The Republicans have alienated almost every vital demographic by now, and they should manage to turn off the rest by November. All of the swing states have a good representation of all those groups, so they should swing to Obama.

Not to worry though. The R's will still have their southern white male religionists. I just don't know if they will be enough.

I cannot believe with his lackluster policies and his class warfare stance that people are still going to support obummer. I think that alot of my country mates need a lobotomy. All I can do to make sense of it all is wonder if food stamps and other entitlements are that lucrative that you can get BOUGHT that easy. Keep giving up your freedoms and it will be lights out America before you know it.

It's really too early to tell. Both answers to this question only represents personal choices. I strongly belief that the second person on the tickets will be pivotal to carrying the swing states.

I am surrounded by Republican's. Every elected official in the district is a Republican. They weren't enthused in 2008 and when McCain selected Palin they closed their pocketbooks and went on hiatus until after the election.

This time around they are "fired up and ready to go," as Obama might say. They dislike Obama as much or more than Democrats disliked George W. Bush. In addition, it doesn't appear that Democrats will once again return to the polls in record breaking numbers.

20 million Obama voters stood home in 2010. The pendulum swings back with millions in the streets protesting the GOP and corporations. It is the Dem backer this time that are energized. The GOP in fact has passed hundreds of anti-abortion laws in states having no ballot initiative like in 2004 to get their people out. Romney does not thrill Evangelicals that won't come out strongly for him. In FL and IA that means the difference in winning or not.

Jimbo, liberals/progressives are not all thrilled about Obama this time around either. They will vote for him but it is highly unlikely that it will be a record breaking turnout like in 2008. Obama has been on planet Earth now for four plus years and it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinquish him apart from any other self-serving politician.

He's just a politician...and we've seen so many politiciqans before....he's just one more....

Did you see the results at realclearpolitics and the only poll that is putting Obama ahead is Reuters/Ipsos which cheated by asking 47 percent Democrats while only asking 38 percent of Republicans who they were going to vote for. That is a nine point advantage but the poll showed a 7 percent lead by Obama.

I didn't say I would vote for Obama, but I surely will NOT vote for Romney. I'm hoping for someone else to show up. It's not that I like Obama, I just think he will win. I think the decision has already been made. I don't think we have control of who gets elected, they just let us think that. The only elections that aren't controled are the local ones.
  • gary wtxwoman 2012/05/07 01:36:07

That's always why they start some distraction, so we won't be watching them. That's why I am wondering what the DEMs had to part with to get the election and what the GOPers get. Whatever it is, it isn't good for us.
