The widely ignored UN agency announcement two weeks before Bush's attack & after months of investigation that absolutely none of Bush's falsely claimed Iraqi weapons actually existed.

Here's my personal favorite. (at least in terms of modern-era presidents)-

Kennedy is an interesting pick: Staunch anti-Communist, hard-nosed and even hawkish advocate of American international political and military power. Yet also able to step outside that conservative-seeming mindset to target the Moon rather than merely open up a major geopolitical ~ even nuclear ~ endgame with near-certain catastrophic consequences. And able to act as an advocate for civil rights, whose time had certainly come. A center-right moderate overall, though by today's standards he would probably be center-left, even liberal, in the context of modern authoritarian and corporatist American politics.

Also: Educated, literate, smart, cocky, tough, cool under fire.

Hard not to like the guy, in spite of all his flaws.

It's frightening to imagine what action Nixon would've taken during the Cuban missile crisis..

Can't disagree with that ~ Nixon would have enjoyed, like Bush, the role of 'War President,' but was much better as the hawk bending to make a peaceful overture by reaching out to China. That could have gone better, true, but that scenario is still far preferable to Nixon taking on Cuba.

He is the last President before Johnson and Nixon bring on the disaster of Vietnam (yes, I know Kennedy gets the credit for beginning US involvement there, but it was Johnson and Nixon who gave us the Vietnam War). The last President before the behind-the-scenes struggle for power in America would enable entities such as the CIA, NSA and others to subvert America's democratic government and freedoms. He, by definition, predates the Warren Commission which, sadly, served as a blueprint for the 9/11 Commission and other whitewashes as everything Eisenhower warned us against came true:

When Bush left office, unemployment was 4.7%, gas cost $2.26 a gallon and 17 million Americans were on food stamps. Almost 4 years later under Obama, unemployment is at a record 8.3%, gas costs $4.00 a gallon and 43 million Americans are on food stamps.

Out of those four, I would say Nixon was by far the worst and greatest embarrassment to America. I can't believe you included Reagan. If you ask me, President Ronal Reagan was the best President we've had in the past thirty years.

I see that GW gets the top vote but maybe because he is remember for being the most recent disaster. I will never forget the Christmas carpet bombing on North Vietnam. While we were supposedly celebrating the birth of the Prince of Peace, we were bombing the hell out of a civilian population who were no threat to us at all. What kind of Commander in Chief orders that? Add to that the fact that Nixon was a power freak who trusted no one. Reagan was like Romney. He only wanted to be President but knew little or nothing about foreign affairs. He had his handlers like GW Bush and only did as he was advised. We all know Cheney was the mastermind. Bush Sr. was part and parcel of the whole in crowd on Wall Street and in Washington. He had always been employed in some capacity by a government agency. The ultimate insider.
We all see what happens when an outsider get elected to Washington on the Democratic side. Carter was thwarted at every move and lasted only one term. Clinton lost his majority after two years and then had to kowtow to the Republicans, and Obama now is vilified as the outsider who does not belong in the Presidency at all.

I went with Bush, but I wanted to pick all four of them. Nixon was a crook from the word go. Reagan was senile and slept through most of his presidency, Bush Sr was just another greedy money whore and Bush was just too stupid to ever make a good decision.
