Who was the first serial killer in the USA? I seem that it was H. H. Holmes who killed from Chicago to Fort Worth. Have you ever heard of him?

No this is the first I have heard of him.

America's first serial killer was Abraham Lincoln.

Under the administration of Abraham Lincoln, 600,000 Americans were sent to their graves. Another sixty thousand are said to have died in the ensuing famine which overtook the south.

I'm vehemently opposed to slavery--of ANY kind.

So you think Lincoln was wrong to wage war to end it. Yet you claim to be against slavery.

First, since slavery didn't become a major issue of contention between Lincoln and the south until about two thirds of the way into the war, I don't accept the premise that the whole war was 'about slavery.' More than anything else, the war was precipitated by the south's refusal to surrender its sovereignty in regard to the payment of crippling tariffs.

Second, I can still be vehemently opposed to slavery (of ANY kind) and believe Lincoln was a mass murderer. There were OTHER ways to address the slavery issue than unrestrained barbarity (on both sides)--economic isolation, for instance. Even IF the whole war had been 'about slavery' as so many Americans erroneously believe, there were OTHER WAYS to resolve the issue.

Looks like a pic of Dr. Daniel Mudgett who had the death hotel in/near Chicago. Yeah I have read about him.
