I'm always amazed how Lincoln is often mentioned as being in the top 10 in a question like this.I guess it's because the wealthy northerners back then used the war to cover up the fact that they didn't want to pay taxes to a separate new independent southern country.Besides that he was our first really gay president.George Washington was the bravest (military leader to lead this country to it's beginnings) and should always remain the our greatest president. It would be a toss-up between LBJ, FDR, Lincoln and Eisenhower.

Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, or Reagan. I'd have a hard time picking just one, but I'd lean towards Abe (#16).

I think it was Ronald Reagan. He had a great mindset, and has some awesome quotes. Plus, he knew how to run a country.

Eisenhower's interstate highway system is an amazing accomplishment. At the same time, other infrastructure projects were creating jobs. This was the period that primed the economy for the prosperity of the latter part of the 20th century.

It certainly wasn't Lincoln, who separated us from the Founding Fathers' intentions and any sense that the country was based upon democratic principles..

Solely for the reason of RE-AWAKENING American citizens to the dangers of electing an ill-informed, anti-USA president.

This upcoming landslide defeat by Romney/Ryan will effectively kill the Democratic Party for at least the next couple of generations in national election terms. IF we have that long as a sovereign Nation.

Easily one the most competent but certainly not the best. His term was a train wreck.

The biggest problem was the impeachment, which the Senate failed to finalize. Clinton was later disbarred. The office was badly discredited by Clinton's sexual compulsions and disclosure of his history of it as Governor of Arkansas.

Yeah, I had confidence in the country's leadership, but the so called Assault Weapons Ban along with Hillary whispering in his ear worried me greatly.

Ya, and gosh, we have such strict guns laws 15 years later, dont we? As long as NRA runs the govt, you dont have to worry unless some crazy decides to go off in a place where you happen to be.

Um, think about it. if there had been a bunch of people toting guns at that theatre, God only knows what might have happened. First of all there would be some who didnt know the bad guys from the good, and with the guys protective gear, only a marksman would have been able to take him out. It may have caused more deaths.

That's all true, but people have the right to carry for their own defense. A competent shooter would not take a shot he couldn't make in that situation, and handguns are designed for close up only.

And if they were close up, they would have died. He had all the power in that situation. The ones who ducked and got under seats lived thru it.

It may sound a bit cliche, but George Washington is by far the best all around President our nation has ever known. A man of many hats & skills,.... lawyer, not being one of them.
Successful & wealthy, yet put everything on the line and took a chance.
