Who Was Funnier at the White House Correspondents' Dinner: Obama or Jimmy Kimmel?

Jimmy Kimmel was supposed to be the White House Correspondents' Dinner's headlining comedian, but he had some unlikely competition in the President. Obama's speech was peppered with timely jokes, including a fake campaign ad poking fun at the media dogfight surrounding the candidates' canine companions, and a clever off-stage closer where he pretended not to know his microphone was still on and asked why he was "opening for Jimmy Kimmel and telling knock-knock jokes to Kim Kardashian."

Kimmel also took shots at Kim Kardashian, but his best material was political. He went after Romney ("I don't think of Etch-a-Sketch. I think of Twister: One foot on red, one on blue and both hands on green"), Ron Paul ("Paul looks like the guy who gets unhooded at the end of every 'Scooby Doo' episode") and of course, Obama ("Remember when the country rallied around you in the hopes of a better tomorrow? That was hilarious. That was your best one yet.") Who do you think stole the show?

except it's not one night off, He has been out and about, rubbing elbows with elite hollywood since the day he started campaigning in 2008. He is constantly "making jokes" and being, IN MY OPINION, unprofessional as representative of the President of the United States. Besides, He gets PLENTY of nights off, Taitafa... he takes lots of vacations.

Also, This was not a night off. This was a scripted and planned event that other presidents have done in the recent years and just said some more inappropriate things then others have in the past. The "roasting" is inappropriate, regardless of who is talking but Obama took it too far.

what is too far..? you're viewing o it with a bias is no more trustworthy as any other opinion including one the favors the man; they're BOTH biased for their own reasons. This POTUS has taken 1/3 the vacation time of the last president; and as 'connected' as he and his staff are, he is never, never further away than the length of his arm to run this country or get on the hotline to anybody in the world 24/7 - Even Kim Il Un of N. Korea; if he wanted to call him to tell he's gonna kick his *ss this coming weekend he could, so your argument that he' always takes time off' is specious and non-factual. IF this man was not so hated by 1/2 the irrational soreloser House, he wouldn't have to spend his time compaigning to push back on the lies and distortions told on his behalf. It's never a 'night off' but he DOES have the right to defend himself

Give me and others on this blog a break!! This president has been "off" since he took office. And as for him taking fewer vacations than Bush...if you call Bush conducting presidential business at his ranch in Texas a vacation then you have been misinformed along the way. Obama AND his family have racked up more miles on AirForce One taking vacations then any president I can remember! And I was born during the Truman years! Obama's rock star image illusion is getting mighty old! He fiddles while America burns!!

What business did Bush have to take care of at his house. Keeping the horses and other asses on the ranch feed is not business. Bush was on vacation all the time. Even when he was in the white house he was on vacation. Did you see that look on his face when he was told that the world trade center was attacked. He even took a vacation right then and there for a few seconds. His mind went blank and the only thing he could think of was how many days do I have left to do this freakin job before I'm back in Crawford.

You telling me that you were born during the Truman yrs does not make you wiser - just much older. And do you suppose while GWB had access to all of the power of the White House during his working visits to Crawford TX, President Obama is downtown D.C. picking up his welfare check with no clue what button does what?

Give yourself a break from your own delusions. You say that President Obama has racked up more vacation time and miles than any president you can remember? That should alarm you; your symptoms of Alzheimer's affects are about 10 yrs ahead of schedule. It's been recorded offficially that the sleepiest presidency since the time of Ike was Ronnie's in the 80's, only superseded by little boy Georgie

I really have no idea why you went off on a tangent like that on me. It's not bias, it's factual. I never said he wasn't able to run this country, I simply said he always takes time off, WHICH HE DOES. For example: Taking a trip to the Olympic nomination committee overseas, with his wife and Oprah on a separate plane (but still we payed for it for some strange reason) is "time off" because he isn't in DC. Traveling all over the world, staying in posh hotels that is "time off" as well. Good day to you.

Bush and Cheney had much more reason to be jailed for crimes against the US, and those who demanded it would mocked and labelled leftist morons who hated America.
So what does that make you? Keep in mind, the worst things Obama has done, have all been following the same steps and policies Bush put into place.

You must of been living overseas when Bush was in office. Obama is a true gentlemen and dignitary, the likes we haven't seen since the Kennedy area.

Actually, I wasn't. Bush's trips to the Ranch in Texas is MUCH different then the trips around the world, usually with two separate planes. One for him, and one for Michelle. I really haven't seen any evidence that would suggest Obama is a "gentleman and dignitary" are you forgetting about the bowing to practically every foreign leader in less then 3 years? I REALLY don't want to get into an argument about Obama with you, or anyone else. You think he is great, I see him as a weak leader who is more concerned with creating more racial tension and being "buddy buddy" with Hollywood then leading this country.

    THIRD CHOICE PLEASE!!!!
I voted for Kimmel because I will NEVER vote for O.

I have not seen the whole thing but they were BOTH funny from what I saw. I am a conservative but I DO have a sense of humor and am honest enough to admit it. I never said I didn't LIKE Obama, he is very "likable", but not as president. As an opener for Kimmel? Sure!

If by "joke" you mean " success" I would absolutley concur. Otherwise, wake up- the later included a McCain-Palin ticket. Now that is one heck of a punch line.

I voted for Obama then but to be honest I would vote for McCain-Palin if they ran against Obama again in this election, That said, I would vote for Mickey mouse against Obama in this election---his funding of the Muslin Brotherhood is inexcusable and criminal. Nobody but a complete party loyalist can defend Obama currently and vote for him again this time.

Cool? The current POTUS is dishonest, corrupt, sleaze who divides our country, by playing gender against gender, ethnic group against other ethnic group, fomenting class envy, etc.

seeing as you apparently have no clue to what goes on here your ideas don't matter.
BO is not well received,he is tolerated. and talking crap candidates he takes the cake.as it was said when he was running in 2008,he is a product and pushed like one. he has no substance and never will.

I don't know where exactly you get your information from, but I, and many other non-Americans, are completely fine with Obama, and our reasons for mocking the US are for what I just stated.

Compared to the right, who are all god-fearing fundamentalists, and Ron Paul, who doesn't believe in the separation of church and state, Obama is still the best choice.
