It was Obama's idea to start with ! If he can't find a way to cut $5 out of every $1000 we spend, I think he's a very poor person to be in charge of our humongous budget ! Were talking 1/2 of 1%, are we that far gone with our debt that we can't cut 1 penny out of every $2.00 ? If we are then we are in really deep do-do ! If you spend a $100.00 on groceries could you cut 50 cents and still eat ? Think about it !

It's past time for the two parties to come together and start working for the betterment of this country. Both sides are to blame for the current mess we are in.

We've had some tax increases, I rarely agree with the conservatives, but this time, I think they are right in demanding cuts in the spending. The dems need to step up and start negotiating and get spending under control

LOL the people of the US should DEMAND a solid plan and a BUDGET that will be balanced with cuts to politicians pay and bennies FIRST then do a triage of what can be cut....then prosecute any and all government fraud...and stop all aide to illegals(they are after all federal criminals)...when that is done look at if we should raise taxes.

If they can not come to an agree to balance the budget THEY should NOT get paid till they have it signed....

Funny how only 30% blame the man who offered the idea, while demonizing the idiots who went along with it. I'd say both are to blame. It WAS Obama's idea via his advisory team, but the Republican hierarchy was dumb enough to go along with it. But here is the rub. We will still be spending MORE than we did last year. How is that armageddon?

But, then again people like you are showing their true inhumanity and other personality flaws. You seem to think that all people who get State assistance as lazy people trying to live off of the State. True, there are a small number of people who abuse this system, but the vast majority of people getting assistance are people who just need help for one reason or another. When I was a child, My mother had to go on welfare for a few months until she found a job. That was over 25 years ago. What about those who lose their job because some greedy bastards moved the jobs to China? If you won't care about any one but yourself, why should we care about YOU?
