“We may make mistakes as a nation from time to time and step on others’
toes, and we’ll say we’re sorry for that, but apologizing for America is
something I will never, ever do.” - Mitt Romney

Does Mr. Romney understand that "We make mistakes as a nation and say we're sorry for that" and "Apologizing for America" are the same thing?

I was going to say that Romney has relentlessly demonstrated just how clueless he is, but I thought he'd miss the point!
  • Andy 2012/03/12 03:27:23
Maybe he can apologize for all 57 states!?!?!
  • Tedster Andy 2012/03/12 17:42:37
Saying 57 states is what's known as a "slip of the tongue".
  • Andy Tedster 2012/03/13 03:56:39
OR... I just have no idea what is going on!!
  • Tedster Andy 2012/03/13 08:04:01
I think your statement that "you have no idea what's going on" pretty much says it all.

So, per you a constitutional scholar/professor and Senator does not know how many states there are when he's one of two Senators in each state totalling 100? I'll bet you can see Russia from your doorstep, too not to mention standing shoulder to shoulder with our North Korean allies while they warn the British that they're coming.

I wonder if these guys ever watch / listen to themselves and think, damn I sound like an idiot! (Or something along those lines) I doubt it, but ever wonder if they do?

It is amazing how the democrats have resorted to being so petty this election cycle to do everything they can to distract from how horrible of a president Obama really is.

    Ha.. Ha.. wow, he's dumb.

I think Bill Maher somehow wrote this speech, without Romney knowing it.
    Or Gingrich.
On second thought... It was probably Romney.

That sounds like something a comedian would say, not a US president. I'll bet John Mc cain is rolling over in his grave. Huh?.....What?..........Are you sure? comedian president ill bet john mc cain rolling grave huh
  • Paul Hopscotch 2012/03/11 21:03:51
John McCain is not dead to roll in his grave, maybe Johnny Carson
  • Hopscotch Paul 2012/03/12 14:39:10 (edited)
That was a joke, Sonny. McCain may not be dead, but his ideas are out dated. IMHO. There, do you understand? And I'm sure Johnny Carson is dead, unfortunately, (again IMHO)... but the joke was made in his honor (there I go again). If you need THAT explained, let me know.
dated imho understand johnny carson dead imho joke honor explained

Anytime I step on someones toe, I'm going to apologize, why? because it's the right thing to do
  • Flowers 2012/03/10 14:22:43
Apologizing for mistakes and apologizing for being what America IS are two different things. It's like saying I still love my child, but I don't love her actions when she is bad. I don't really get why that is a "comical" comment from Romney

Apologizing for what we do but not who we are? I think it is patriotic.
  • Flowers the spo... 2012/03/10 14:40:42
um, well the title of the article said " laugh at this comment" so I was commenting.
  • toni Flowers 2012/03/10 16:10:25
I suppose the statement is open to interpretation, but if you have interpreted it correctly then the implication is that the Obama administration apologizes for America being what it is. Can you give one example of Obama or anyone in his administration apologizing for America being what it is.
  • Flowers toni 2012/03/10 16:44:21 (edited)
actually, Yes I can give examples:
It's only an abstract of the article, you have to be a paying subscriber to read the full text but since Obama began this presidency, he has made it VERY clear of his intentions to apologize for what America is ("In Prague, he said America has "a moral responsibility to act" on arms control because only the U.S. had "used a nuclear weapon.")

I gave two examples, I'm sure there is plenty more.
  • Wag Flowers 2012/03/12 15:38:07
WOW! another smoking gun. With all the hard work the republinuts have done you would think that Obama would be trailing in the polls.......
  • Hopscotch Flowers 2012/03/10 17:12:17

How about Obama's lesson on public discourse? Now that was really funny and hypocritical.
