WHO REMEMBERS THIS PRESIDENT RICHARD NIXON

OKay, not first hand, as I was born in 1977. He was one of our most complex Presidents. Often politically savvy, but also overly suspicious of people's motives. Rose from very humble beginnings to become the President of the United States, only to fall from grace by involving himself in a cover-up of the Watergate scandal that he was not directly connected to. He played piano; invited Frank Sinatra to sing at the White House in 1973 after winning a second term in a landslide (unofficial recordings have surfaced through the years). In later years he was often sought for advice by future presidents, including Bill Clinton, before his death in 1994. The following year Anthony Hopkins portrayed him in a superb Oliver Stone film, "Nixon."

Very interesting and complex person, I think he new what was happening but that it was nothing new. They both were trying to find out what the other new, only problem is they got caught doing it. I was sorry to see resign.

I remember President Nixon fondly. He was an intelligent man who allowed his insecurities to get the best of him. This man is to be credited for opening up realtions with China and the USSR. Quite honestly I do think he should be praised for his political prowess. IMO he was a great politician.

I met Nixon and hugged by his wife twice during that meeting. My other half worked with him so has great stories.

As a politician, TasselLady he was brilliant. As a person he did have some insecurities which helped lead to his demise. It was a shame.
