I manage all of the money in our household, pay the bills, budget and make the decisions how it is spent, every aspect. Savings everything.
My husband just hands it all to me.
HE gets an allowance.

I keep us solvent and debt free.
O,and I am one of those 'oppressed' Muslim women you hear tell about!

I think that it can go either way. I think that the person that makes the money is usually better though, because they are the ones working for it, so they will be less likely to splurge it, as they know how hard it was to earn.

But I found this site that made me ponder a few things. It was about money management for women. My initial thought was to laugh, because it was targeted at women, but then I realized what a good resource it was for women and men who need to save money and learn how to budget. I think the only reason it may be targeted at women is because they are generally thought of as the ones who waste money, even if they really don't.

From the experience I have (with ex-es and dating) -- it has been my experience that the guys are just not real good with saving at all. I've been the one who has been the saver.

definetly Men. I mean I have only had my dad do it but but my sisters husband is really good with her money. She really needs sombuddy that can take care of her money epeshaly in the oconumy.

And give a women a checkbook she is off to the mall. When I grew up, my dad never once went to sporting goods stores to splurge money. The most he did was occasionally buy DVDs. My mom was similar too. She would buy new furniture, but sparingly. But in general, she spent more than my dad. This can get to stereotypical or sexist if we aren't careful.

Fo years I did it all, but now my husbands help pays the bills. Both need to know what is going on with your money and bills. I make all the decisions on the savings and have done very well. We own our home, owe nothing but our monthly bills and have very decent 401Ks Hoping they will stay that way,

When I was single, I always had money in the bank, had an excellent credit rating, had stocks and bonds....12 years of marriage, I had to sell my stocks and bonds, used up my savings, credit rating absyminal....never put your wife's name on your credit cards, especially if you will be gone 6 months at a time on deployment....for some reason this is a license to charge..The good news is that selling the house right before the bubble burst was helpful but not a method I would reccommend..
