Who likes the idea of Communism but hate the people that tend to run it?

I realize from the votes and comments I probably have to elaborate on my opinion. I think communism is good on paper. But it can never work in the real world. I do not support realistic communism. And i am not a communist. I am very republican. And I am actually thinking of joining the military so I can fight for The U.S.A. Not this U.S.A. But the one where we could actually do stuff without 20 questions from the government. Yeah. That USA. So all in all. I AM NOT COMMUNIST!

    You're implying that communism can exist without dictatorship. Not true.

    It has never existed anywhere without dictatorship. It has never been put in place in any country by a fair-and-square vote.

    In EVERY country where communism has ruled, it has ALWAYS been put in place by FORCE.

    There has NEVER been a communist regime that wasn't dictatorial and brutal. So, to imply that communism can be instituted benevolently is a pipe dream.

    There are basically two kinds of people who love communism: Those who have been members of its ruling classes, and those who have never actually had to live under communism. I don't think I need to explain what that means.

    ok you may have read that wrong. im saying that communism has only worked with dictatorship and i wish it could work without. i know it never will. but i can dream can't i? i should probably elaborate my thoughts on this though cuz now everyone thinks im a communist. I actually supported McCain instead of Obama. And I also support Ron Paul. but since thats not gonna happen. I support Santorum. Romney is just to iffy for my taste. he constantly changes his idea

    lol. people are taking this way too seriously. im not saying i support communism. im saying i like the idea on paper. but it gives too much power to the leaders. I actually lean towards less less less government. more people. cuz i hate the government. and if you like the government. your not american

    Joining any branch of the military is a personal choice, you have to evaluate what schools/training they have that appeals to you and your ideals. Also things like where you could be stationed all play a part of that decision.

    Government by real world definition would be the strong protecting the weak for a price. No communism misses the mark because it denies the nature of man, Human beings aren't ants or bees working in a great hive or hill doing only a specific task. You have to learn the history of Karl Marx the person and the nature of Great Britain at the time to understand what he was talking about. If you read the Soviet constitution of 1921 , it is the most freedom giving document but in actuality most restrictive. Even Lenin said it was a bust and the dictatorship would never end.

    exactly. but some people just don't get that. almost every system seems good on paper. but its the people that control the government that give it either a good or bad name

    I wonder this is speculative now but could communism work if their are two government agencies created within the communist system that compete against each other for profits but are still controlled by the government and have certain rules in play. Lets say every dollar they earn from selling products is matched for one dollar of government funding it could result in free market communism. Does anyone see any flaw in that that would make it an invalid idea?

    For a free and prosperous society to work you have to have free market capitalism.

    With communism, eventually you run out of other people's money.

    But you are stuck with an ideological leadership that is unwilling to change.

    Then you become a slave working for less than slave wages, producing products that are below standard quality; they can't be sold inside the country for lack of money and no one in the world markets are interested.

    Yeah, be my guest and support communism. Just do it in another country.

    I mean I like communism. But as you said it fails. It's good on paper. But people abuse power. I think it's one of the best ideas that will never work. Leaders use it as a starting point for dictatorship. And it's sickening. But I love the idea of Communism. And btw. I can support Communism anywhere I want to. Even America
