Who do you feel are more rude: liberals or conservatives?

I wouldn't say being rude means a person is a whackjob, necessarily. I have encountered more rude people that are self-proclaimed Conservatives, but Liberals can be quite rude as well.

Anyone who feels it's appropriate to drag their political opinions into an everyday discussion that has nothing to do with politics--I'm so sick of people dragging whatever political party they disagree with through the mud on questions that have nothing to do with political parties. Not just here, but pretty much any website that involves discussion.

From what I've seen both can be rude and mean but Conservatives do take the cake on this one...especially here..

It is very likely that it is a small percentage of each group. But the liberals seem to have much more hatred in their system, very close to the surface.
So the slightest thing that ruffles their feathers releases hate and vitriol in copious quantities.

There are plenty of rude people on both sides of the fence. From personal experience on SodaHead I'd have to say I've seen more rudeness from liberals. That's probably because they disagree with my views. I don't think you have to be rude because somebody disagrees with your opinion though.

The act of calling one or the other rude is rude in itself. I have experienced hateful words from both sides of the spectrum.

Humans can be rude. Some of them are conservatives, some are liberal, some aren't either. Sometimes people are rude when they have had a bad day, some people reciprocate an attitude directed at them, some people are rude out of ignorance, and a very small few are just naturally rude.

Actually I'd lean towards Conservatives but we have different forms of rudeness. It goes to the thinking processes and even organic brain processing of information of Conservatives vs. Liberals. Liberals generally process political thought in the Cerebellum and should they desire to be rude use sarcasm and mockery. Conservatives (generally again) process political thought in the Amygdala which leads to less subtle rude behavior such as anger and raging. (Do your own Google search and you can find peer reviewed research supporting this although there are detractors as well.) PS - there's nothing specifically wrong with conservatives or right with liberals for this as without the Amygdala we would have been eaten by predators long ago.

Rudeness doesn't bother me as much as stupidity and there is no shortage of that on either side. I really appreciate it when someone has some original, honest and lighthearted commentary to offer.

Neither. I find anyone that is too zealous about their POV and unwilling to see anyone else's as the potential to be really rude.

Neither party administers an IQ test for their members. Neither party tests for cordiality. Neither party requires anything of their constituents, other than a warm body. Both parties are equally attractive to loud mouthed louts. Loud mouthed louts come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and political persuasions.

I would have to say conservatives.

You know I will never forget Rush talking about the Clinton's getting a new dog. Then flashed a picture of Chelsea Clinton. I think she was about 13 at the time. Grown man bashing a little girl Nice.

Liberals for the most part are ruder to me because we have diametrically opposing viewpoints.But as you've seen those Tea partiers can be quite hostile towards my opinions of their" heroes".And don't even get me started with the conspiracy theorist sect of libertarians.And they say republicans discriminate..pisha....LOL

Liberal/Progressive/Socialists ARE the Rudest People On Earth !

I have to give the liberals the rudest medal. As a once Democrat, I found that they really don't have a big tent. If you don't agree with every thing they expect you to support, they are rude and belittling. As a former pro-life democrat I decided to leave that party which doesn't really have a platform any longer. Its the party of special interests, not the party for Americans.

Agreed. And they are also racist. Don't you DARE be a person of color and a conservative. They will turn their backs on you so fast it'll make you spin like a tornado. I once heard a couple of radio d-jays talking about politics (stick to what you know, guys: Music!) and they mentioned Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice, saying that they "weren't REALLY black." So, according to them, if you are black, you are only allowed to hold certain jobs. I thought as a nation we were beyond this.

I have seen it in action. We were supposed to be way past that by now. Seems they for got Martin Luther Kings words about the content of their character. Very sad state of affairs.

Of course both have their extremist kooks but, by and large, "liberalism" is a naive adolescent philosophy embraced by immature youth and adults. As such, they are far more rude and obnoxious.

they both are, but Liberals are a bigger threat since the mainstream media sympathizes with them. Conservatives get made fun of more readily and easily than liberals. When is the last story you seen where they tried to make liberals sound like they are crazy, its not that hard, but the media never does that so the average person cannot well comprehend a liberal being unreasonable.

Can't use the facts then go to slander. Conservative don't care what you believe but its not your way or the highway like a liberal.

Liberals are all about "tolerance" , "diversity", and "inclusiveness" , right up until the point where some one disagrees with their failed policies, then it is instantly transformed into obscenity laden insults and vituperation.
