Jeffrey Warren of Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California, won the scholarship awarded by the Martin Luther King Senior Citizens Club. Warren applied for the "black only" scholarship, citing that the application only encouraged blacks to apply, but didn't have any racial requirement.
King High School Principal Darel Hansen said the organization's cover letter did state race was a factor, but that information had been left off the application and was not requested when he applied.
"It was kind of funny at first, everyone was laughing. They announced it for an African American, they saw me walk up," Warren said.

No+18How are we ever going to end racism when the folks in charge keep breaking us into races? I wonder if there are any "white only" scolarships out there? Somehow, that would come across as very racist...why doesn't this?

not the color of your skin, but the content of your character? He must be turning over in his grave.

Caucasian students represent 69.3% of private scholarship recipients but only 61.8% of the undergraduate student population. This is in contrast with minority students, who represent 30.5% of scholarship recipients and 38.0% of the undergraduate student population. Caucasian students are 40% more likely to win private scholarships than minority students.
.Anyway would it make you people happy if we changed all scholarships open to black people . To make it open to African-Americans . And since there are a few white people from Africa than it would be just like the Irish Scholarships that technically is open but black people but no black person ever gets.
For so many people wanting everything to not be about race why do color based scholarships still exist?
This is a question concerning should color based scholarships still exist not, does the POTUS skin color matter...
Learn what white privilege means.
