Looks like the American people won't be seeing evidence of Osama bin Laden's death after all.

President Barack Obama has decided not to release pictures of the terrorist amid fears it would show a lack of respect and could lead to a backlash.

Personally, I would like to see the pictures. The President though, has reasons to keep them .from public viewing. These reasons, I'm sure, outweigh our need for personal gratification.

Showing the pictures doesn't serve any purpose. He's dead. Seeing his corpse isn't going to make him any more dead. Of course I'm someone who hates viewings before funerals. I think they are morbid, depressing and gross. I like remembering my friends they way they looked when they were alive. I know that many people are comforted by taking that last view whereas for me it's no longer my friend, just a stiff in a coffin. And the conspiracy theorist who still don't think we went to the moon, will say the pix are fake anyhow Even John McCain who knows about war and death said showing the pictures does no good.

War started this economic decline...it always does. Bush/Cheney started it under false allegations of weapons of mass destruction. The focus was to be on finding Bin Laden. Don't forget the fat cats (CEOs and banks) who have been taking all of the pie and leaving crumbs for their workers. Bonuses through the roof, no regulation, frivilous spending of 'leaders' on Wall Street got us here, not Obama. He is tring to bail us out. He started with a negative and an inevitable depression. More like paying bills from presidents going back to the mid 1830's, which is the last time our public debt was zero. It's not like W invented federal borrowing. But I agree that paying off debt is essential, it's just that Obama only pays lip service to the idea while continuing to outspend all of his predecessors combined.

You're confusing budget deficit/surplus with overall debt. Every single president since the 1830's has contributed to the overall debt. Surpluses/Deficits are just the over/under budget. Obama has outspent all other presidents combined... which will translate into more debt because we have to borrow the money to satisfy his spending habits
