- The White House plans to soon release a photo from the controversial Air Force One-style flyover of Manhattan last week, despite claiming earlier that there was no need to release any official images from the incident.
The flyover triggered panic among New Yorkers as well as the internal review by the Obama administration.
Officials last week sent an Air Force One backup plane to fly over lower Manhattan to capture the presidential plane with the Statue of Liberty in the background. The public was not notified in advance that there should be no cause for alarm.... Read full article »

Wonder how many sick and hungry people that photo op would have helped?View thread
Clueless.
Imagine you lived through the terror of that day.
You were covered in dust from crumbling buildings, choking, coughing,-----can't see because of dust and sweat dripping into your eyes. Your co-workers are they o.k.? Is you child accounted for? Your spouse or significant other?
People jumping from the towers to avoid being trapped.
Screaming...all the screaming and crying. Running. Pushing.
So then you see, once again, a plane flying were a plane is not supposed to be. Add to that it is followed by a military aircraft.
Would that trigger terror in you?
1) Huge waste of money. The President and his family
were probably sight-seeing. But regardless of photo op---
No excuse.
2) Mostly thoughtless and inconsiderate.
3) If there was truly a need for this activity people in the area should have been notified.
I heard the President tonight make a reference to 3,000 lives
taken on 9/11, but I think if it was truly in their minds and hearts someone would have mentioned this activity might not be a
good idea or at least say---let's let the people in the area know
what's going on.
