According to two sites I was reading this morning, radiation levels have already increased dramatically in the state of California. Another report indicated the Blue-fin tuna that were tested recently tested high for levels of radiation. Of course, if the reactors go in Japan, we will be glowing in the dark in North America. For some reason the media and our government just haven't given us the picture of just how dire the situation is in Japan and how it could affect us all. If reacter 4 goes we no long have to worry about who is going to be our next president. See link below

And now... they've found what is being spun as a 'minute, safe level' in Blue fin Tuna (despite the fact that this radiation is not the same type as what you encounter from radio frequencies, electronics or even X-rays - as they're trying to convince people apparently, and all it takes is one of those isotopes to get inside of you to start off cancers and all kids of other problems) off of our Californian coast. Safe to eat my ass!
THAT would not have happened if they hadn't pumped out untold amounts of contaminated reactor pool water last year (and hell, who really knows, they have probably done it a number of times since then too).
The government does not tell their citizens much of anything when dealing with things like this. They not only hide it or down play it but the worst part is that they have no idea what to do about it. Where I live I seen the unprepared government not just in BP but also Katrina. The government was unprepared on all levels, city,state,and federal. For the most part it was people helping people that took the first steps while the state and the fedreal government was battleing each other.
No offense, but I see a "conspiracy" theme in much of your comment, with few facts to back them up.

During Katrina everyone was wondering why the Federal government did not get in here sooner. Well in La the federal government can not send anyone in without the premission of the governor. La still has some French laws that cover this state. For the governor to give permission she also gives up a form of her command or power. The governor at that time refused to let them in at first. She was the first woman governor and she did not want to give up any power. The military that finally got here did so just hours after she final gave permission. They were just on the other side of the state line waiting to enter for a few days
Now as for BP the governor we have now asked them to stop spraying because the test results on many of the dead wildlife was coming back with the spray being the cause of death. I know this becasue I have family that was down there doing their best to rescue the wildlife. They were there when the reports came in. But also many of the fisherman was getting sick and when rushed to the nearest...

The governor asked the President to have them stop the spraying. Of course he agreed but the spraying never stopped. It went on for weeks after the request was made.
The news did not even show half of what was happening down here in both cases.And this was something happening in our own country so just how much truth are we getting from them about what is happening in Japan. From my personal experience I would same it is it is a whole lot worst than what any one is letting on.
