Ron Reagan raised taxes the most. He also 'saved' social security by substantially raising payroll taxes.

Republicans seem to think that Americans are idiots. For decades, they've paid lip service to shrinking government, while CONSISTENTLY doing the opposite in office.

Got to be Reagan, strange but I never heard the term "HomeLess' until he was in his 3rd. year in office, with all the tax raises you think social programs could have saved these folks from Homelessness.. however Reagan had his priorities, Like Bombs, Army Paychecks, Tanks and Military Air Craft.

No one is condemning Reagan for raising taxes!!! It's just a fact. He had to raise taxes a lot. Hence the impact of Bush Sr. running on the "read my lips" statement. It isn't a flaw it is the truth. Ironically, a republican is passing BLAME onto someone else. So we should really blame John Boehner for our economic status? How is that different from you point?

It means everything. He had the power to say yay or nay. If he said yay, then he really did in fact support those tax increases. If he voted nay and was overridden, he could at least save face and adequately point fingers back at the liberal Congress.

He held he power of Veto, so in the end the buck stopped at him, or rather didn't stop. And who you calling a liberal? I happen to be an independent (Constitutionalists leaning kind) and even I knew it was Reagan.

Reagan for a peacetime president. The Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War all had taxes raised.
