I think this is their way of "solving" the "problem" of poor people. Just let them go away, in other words die, by attrition from illness, hunger, cold, excessive heat, lack of education, crime, age..... There you go, no more "problem". No, I gave the correct answer. Allowing people/corporations to keep more of what they earned is not welfare, it was theirs to begin with; they earned it. And if you're going to subsidize someone, it should go for it's intended use, not to feed a drug habit.
