As Mitt Romney appears to be the presumptive Republican nominee for president the time is at hand to unify the party behind the cause. While Gov. Romney and Congressman Paul have had a friendly primary race, they could not be farther apart on their policies. In order for Gov. Romney to win over these Libertarian-leaning Republicans he may need to adopt one or more of Dr. Paul's positions.

Here's a few of Dr. Paul's positions that most Americans can get behind...

Auditing the Federal Reserve to find out what they've been doing with our money for the last 100 years.

Cutting entire redundant expensive govt beaurocracies and consolidating responsibilities.

Only going to War with a Declaration as the Constitution says.

Bringing our troops home
from Afghanistan and the Middle East and placing them on our borders here at home.

Ending the unconstitutional income tax and the IRS by tax reforms and simplifying the tax code.

Adopting a more Libertarian state's rights view of social issues like marijuana, gay marriage, death penalty, etc...

Cutting military/defense waste and the BILLIONS going overseas in Foreign AID.

Ending the failed and expensive Nixon War on Drugs.

Repeal the Patriot Act, repeal Obamacare, end all the wars and don't start any without a congressional declaration of war. Forget auditing the Fed, End the Fed, and end the IRS and the progressive income tax. I'd be happy if Romney did one of these, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

Well the S&P 500 is also well above its lows of the Bush crash.

again with the bush comparison. THEY're both a joke ! and although the s&p500 is a better barometer for the health of US stocks, it too has limited reliance.

Bush is the joke. He is the source of all our problems. Who know what obama could have done if he had inherited a country that had a balanced federal budget, a country largely at peace, a country that was actively working to resolve the Israel Palestine problem, the list goes on. Then GW comes in and in 8 years totally screws thing up and plunges the country into a recession second only to the great depression. And you consider them the same? That is just insanity.

it is not insanity! They are both money and power driven! and if you want to go on ranting about bush's war mongering and the trouble it has gotten us into financially. Obama continued and extended bush's undeclared war and added a few tid bits of his own!
same ol story that all repubs and demos use.
BLAME the other guy, " I Inherited all these problems"
INSTEAD of accepting what is happening and just fixing it!

It is a shame that many don't realize there is a difference between starting a war and being forced to continue it. There is no one who is more against the wars than I am but it is ridiculous to think that Mitt would have ended these wars. The military industrial complex is an extremely powerful force and one just doesn't end it easily.

Thanks to republicans politicians are now basically whores. give them money so that they can screw the public. This corruption really got bad when the republican majority ruled on the supreme court. These idiots are legislating from the bench. Main reason I will be voting democratic is to prevent more republicans from being appointed to the bench. These idiots really want to transform America into Oceania and they could do it.

Republicans and Democrats are both guilty of this , anyone who says that they're not is severely misguided or just plain ignorant!

THIS war has never BEEN about terror or enemies, it has always been about oil. 9-11, we were there LONG before 9-11 pushing middle easterners around and TAKING their land's resources by force! 9-11 was just the exuse/reason gov needed to police and hoard the resource in the mid east!

Well there is a huge difference between entering WWII and invading Iraq based upon lies. Yes both parties have been guilty of this but I believe since 1980 republicans have been far more responsible for wars than democrats.

But it is the republicans who have transformed politicians into whores. You really disagree with this? What do you think the citizen united ruling was all about?
