As Mitt Romney appears to be the presumptive Republican nominee for president the time is at hand to unify the party behind the cause. While Gov. Romney and Congressman Paul have had a friendly primary race, they could not be farther apart on their policies. In order for Gov. Romney to win over these Libertarian-leaning Republicans he may need to adopt one or more of Dr. Paul's positions.

Here's a few of Dr. Paul's positions that most Americans can get behind...

Auditing the Federal Reserve to find out what they've been doing with our money for the last 100 years.

Cutting entire redundant expensive govt beaurocracies and consolidating responsibilities.

Only going to War with a Declaration as the Constitution says.

Bringing our troops home
from Afghanistan and the Middle East and placing them on our borders here at home.

Ending the unconstitutional income tax and the IRS by tax reforms and simplifying the tax code.

Adopting a more Libertarian state's rights view of social issues like marijuana, gay marriage, death penalty, etc...

Cutting military/defense waste and the BILLIONS going overseas in Foreign AID.

Ending the failed and expensive Nixon War on Drugs.

Repeal the Patriot Act, repeal Obamacare, end all the wars and don't start any without a congressional declaration of war. Forget auditing the Fed, End the Fed, and end the IRS and the progressive income tax. I'd be happy if Romney did one of these, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

We will find Romney to be the extension of Bush 41 and Bush 43 and the establishment republicans that come with that. Romney is already talking to the "old guard" of the republican party; that segment that hated Reagan, like Bush 41 did. They are progressive too, wolves in sheep's clothing.

Do you see ALL the Bushes partying with Obama this weekend??? They are all in it together ever since they got Reagan out of the way. Reagan set them back 15-20 years but the Euro socialism is alive and well again, in the USA.

Romney will not get behind any of Paul's positions because the crony-cap crooks within the GOP will not support any of it.

The spineless fiscal and social conservatives have learned absolutely nothing, they talk big about being for small constitution government and rule of law and then chicken out, as usual, and act stupider than Obama voters by supporting a big government crony business as usual hack like Romney.

Ron Paul would struggle like a ficus in a forest of redwoods on everything he stands for, and Romney isn't going to even consider any of his proposals. Well, he will do a quick etch a sketch review and flat tell Paul supporters he's going to do these things, but libertarians know better. OH!! I know one of Ron's ideas I'd like to see happen, and that's nickel a gallon gas. No,.... Ron needs to get his shoe shine kit ready for what Mitt has in store for him.

Of course Obama would end the War on Drugs... anyone that did as much drugs as HE DID would end the War on Drugs.
(And before you go all liberal hate-speech on me, playing the Race Card, know this... He ADMITTED to doing drugs, including, IN HIS OWN WORDS, "blow"!)

Yes he did. Unfortunately the war on drugs has continued which was a disappointment. The prison industrial complex along with the businesses that would be affected should marijuana be legalized have great incentives to keep it illegal. This needs to end. So what if he did drugs. GW did far more drugs but that is not the reason I voted against GW.
  • Stacy F ehrhornp 2012/06/16 17:35:59 (edited)

GW Bush did not do "far more drugs", and you know it. He was an alcoholic (to which he admitted), but he went sober, and has STAYED sober, since he was 40.
During the 2000 presidential campaign, Bush said that he gave up drinking after waking up with a hangover after his 40th birthday celebration: "I quit drinking in 1986 and haven't had a drop since then."

If you really believe this, I know where you can get some land cheap in Hawaii. lol GW remained an alcoholic probably to this day. Little bit of advice, one should not put too much credibility to what an addict says.
