As Mitt Romney appears to be the presumptive Republican nominee for president the time is at hand to unify the party behind the cause. While Gov. Romney and Congressman Paul have had a friendly primary race, they could not be farther apart on their policies. In order for Gov. Romney to win over these Libertarian-leaning Republicans he may need to adopt one or more of Dr. Paul's positions.
Here's a few of Dr. Paul's positions that most Americans can get behind...
Auditing the Federal Reserve to find out what they've been doing with our money for the last 100 years.
Cutting entire redundant expensive govt beaurocracies and consolidating responsibilities.
Only going to War with a Declaration as the Constitution says.
Bringing our troops home from Afghanistan and the Middle East and placing them on our borders here at home.
Ending the unconstitutional income tax and the IRS by tax reforms and simplifying the tax code.
Adopting a more Libertarian state's rights view of social issues like marijuana, gay marriage, death penalty, etc...
Cutting military/defense waste and the BILLIONS going overseas in Foreign AID.
Ending the failed and expensive Nixon War on Drugs.
Sound OFF America, Vote NOW, comment, reply, share and RAVE ALL DAY!!!!

Mr. Smith 2012/06/16 17:05:16All of the above+12Repeal the Patriot Act, repeal Obamacare, end all the wars and don't start any without a congressional declaration of war. Forget auditing the Fed, End the Fed, and end the IRS and the progressive income tax. I'd be happy if Romney did one of these, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

READ:
The Constitution of the United States of America, Amendment 16:
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." Passed by Congress July 2, 1909. Ratified February 3, 1913.
Apparently since wikipedia isn't a viable source, if you want to fact-check, you can here at: http://www.archives.gov/exhib...
Or, alternatively, you could accept the fact that I know the U.S. Constitution front-to-back and that we do, in fact, legally as citizens of the United States, have to pay an income tax.
Did you ever go to school?
An Amendment to the Constitution must pass through both Houses of Congress and be ratified by a large majority of States before it comes into effect. And yes, Amendments are very much considered to be part of the Constitution, which, I might add is considered the "Supreme Law of the Land" here in the U.S., ... to everyone except apparently you.
The sixteenth Amendment grants Congress the power to collect an income tax. Unless you want to pass another Amendment repealing that one, you should probably accept it.
Stop posting because you don't know what you are doing and watch this from someone who was there ...

2) Ending the Patriot Act, the NDAA, and other infringements on freedom in the name of security.
3) Ending the Federal Reserve.
The Fair Tax has been introduced in every session of Congress for over a decade and he has not sign on as a co-sponsor.
That way, the US' global dominance, military, economically, imperialistically, will collapse, and the Chinese's victory will be complete.
Taitafa, if Paul wins the nomination, it will be a landslide victory.
For one, each state has their own Commerce and Regulatory Commissions which would continue even after a Ron Paul Presidency because states have a right to as per the constitution.
Second, Each individual state has their own Department of Education and each state can tax and fund along with county and local governments public education. The elimination of the FEDERAL Department of Education (which is redundant) would only rid of a corrupt, tax sucking entity.
Third, Each individual state has their own EPA now and would not change, again being a state rights issue as per the constitution.
Fourth, each state has their own Department of Welfare and Child Services which would continue providing those needed services.
Fifth, all Ron Paul ever proposed was ending the illegal wars that have cost us billions of dollars and use that money to shore up Social Security and Medicare until a transition period where Social Security would be a opt out program for those that wish to fund their own retirement and those that do not would continue to receive their benefits. Also Medicare would continue during the transition period until reforms were completely in place. No one would be affected during transition periods.
