Right now, I think the most important issue is voting rights. The attempts to suppress the vote are fundamentally changing the election process, and could have a profound effect on our democracy. Not since before 1964, has there been such an attack on the rights of voters. Since 1964, every effort has been made to encourage participation in the electoral process, that is until now. If these attacks are not thwarted, I'm afraid that our democracy will be set back to the days of Jim Crow Laws and poll taxes.

The Constitution, Jobs, the Economy, Inflation and National Defense are the most important, certainly NOT Romney's tax returns.

Really? Why do small minded conservative haters bother to render an opinion on issues? We already know what your opinion is on the current president even though you and your ilk have no credible rational for that hateful opinion. obama derangement syndrome

Correct, However after LBJ signed Equal Rights into law... at the time he predicted it would cost the Democrats the South for a generation but it was the Right Thing to do... I agree, How about you? The unfortunate part is that Richard Nixon invoked his Southern Strategy of using subtle racism to fill the void left in the racist south after they were betrayed by the Democrats. That subtle although lately not so subtle racism is still being employed by the Republican party today. If it were not for the racists, homophobes and RWNJ's the corporate funded republican party would never win another national election. nixon

Oh yea LBJ the guy who said and I quote " I will have all the stupid N*$#%s voting democratically for the next 200 years." MLK was a Republican father and son. Republicans used the military to get de-segregation happening instead of being forced to sign some papers.

Regardless of the alleged quote which is rumored to have been said to 2 governors on airforce one - no documentation is available to verify the statement. LBJ still signed the Equal Rights bill and the rest of what I said is documented fact baked in history. The truth (undisputed by you) is that the republican party saw the opening and jumped in with Richard Nixon to use race as a bludgen to win the Southern racist voters. So what is more reprehensible... 1. Being a racist in the 50's & 60's then seeing the light and signing equal rights into law or 2. Seeing that a political party is seeking to give equal rights to African Americans and jumping in to carry the racist mantle into the next (current) generation... in other words being a racist now?

It was the republicans who helped LBJ pass all his civil rights plans, Johnson had almost NO help from the Dems. The republicans will win elections as long as people want freedom from the tyranny of an oppressive government. Surely the Repubs aren't perfect but they are better at fixing the economy than the Dems. What this country needs is a Libertarian president, and to get the Rothschilds out of our banking system.

Yes, We had a great demonstration on the superior ability of the republican party to run the economy during the Bush presidency 8 years of which the republicans had complete control for 6 of those years. 2 Wars Unpaid For, Prescription Drug Bill Unpaid For, No Child Left Behind Unpaid For, Bush Tax Breaks Unpaid For and then the Grand Finale... Crash the Economy, hand the crumbling economy to the Black Guy and then tell everyone he made things worse... Oh Yeah the Republicans sure are better at hadling the economy... Oh I Forgot how do you explain the fact that under Bill Clinton we had the best economy in the last 40 years?

On Jan 19th 2007 we had 4.8% un employment, GDP was at 4+% for the 52nd month in a row. When the Dems took over the Senate and House the slimey Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. took a crap on the economy, first by allowing Fanney Mae and Freddy mac to default on mortgage loans, sending the economy into a tailspin. Secondly by demonizing the banks that were forced to make the loans in the first place. This was the Dems fault. When Bush left office gas was $1.84 a gallon, unemployment was 7.8% and the GDP was 3.4%. How much is gas now? We have had 45 months in a row of GDP of less than 3%, and un employment is 8.3%. We have added over 20 million people to the food stamp ranks. Is this progress? As far as Clinton goes he rode on the coat tails of the Reagan economy, also in 1994 the house was taken over by the Republicans slowing and sometimes stopping Clintons socialist plans.

You are delusional. The housing crash which led the copuntry into an economic tailspin was started long before 2007. The republican congress in 1999 and the willingness of Bill Clinton to sign the Gramm Leach Bliley act which eliminated Glass Steagle (a bill put in place in the 30's) to prevent regular banks from acting like investment houses dealing in high risk investments. This along with your poor picked on banks and wall street creating mortgage vehicles that eliminated the use of FHA mortgage guarantees as well as elimination of private mortgage insurance making it way to easy to get a loan (remember Bushes "Ownership Society" crap) caused a buying frenzy from 2000 up through 2006 into 2007 artificially raising home values to near astronomical heights when the housing market colapsed. http://www.marketoracle.co.uk... http://posterous.com/getfile/...
Seems like the dates just don't support your delusional thought process

Here are just a few hints. Jan. 2007 the Democrats were handed 4.6% unemployment, we haven't been at or below that since then.

Jan. 2009, unemployment was at 7.9%, today we are at 8.3%. Tell me, which number is higher, 8.3% or 7.9%??? If you have a calculator, you can figure it out, no net new jobs for Obama.

and if I threw you in a 200 foot hole and you worked every day building a ladder that only reaches 185 feet and you are still building... too bad you are a failure! That is your logic. Better get all your digs in quick because a few more months of job growth and Obama will have climbed out of the hole Bush threw him in. And by the way can you say Filibuster. The house led by the democrates in 2007-2010 passed over 200 bills most of which were filibustered by the Republicans in an effort to deny the administration any victories. Here are some additional facts... hope you still have those sun glasses
