They are essentially identical, especially the individual mandates and lack of a public option. Prediction: if Romney is elected, along with both houses of Congress going repub, Obamacare will NOT be repealed. It's too profitiable for the insurance companies, which fund both "parties."

They're the SAME FRIGGIN THING. In a speech recently Romney said he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with something that ... (does everything Obamacare does) without any way of paying for it (the mandate). Typical Republican answer for everything... impose policy with no plan (except borrowing more) to pay for it. For examples of this see Medicare D, No Child Left Behind, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Star Wars (worse than the prequels). It's how Republicans operate. Spend record amounts, leave Dems to pick up the check then blame Dems for trying to figure out how to pay it. Right now we have a president who has increased government spending LESS than any president since Eisenhower. At the same time making us safer, saving the auto industry and turning around the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Because if you don't get it, there IS a penalty on the taxes the lazy get from the government every year already. It is using existing funds that are already paid. Perhaps the fear of losing their free money they already receive might incite them to actually work.

they both require chipping and call it free but in America the only reason someone gets something free is cuz someone elses taxes cover you Romney is just as liberal as Barry if not more. People this is bigger than the Government, if Romney pushes Romneycare, or Obama pushes Obamacare and gets it thru cuz right now were saved from the requirements of Obamacare because of the little word called tax it goes back to the house if we want free healthcare we will be living like europe if we want freedom we need to live without government freebies

To be forced to pay for insurance to a private company is not freedom. Certainly not Capitalism. It is Corporatism.
Nah, Americans aren't free either, unfortunately we have fallen back into feudalism like the rest of the world a long time ago.

It is beyond the scope of our form of government. Too many governments have taken far to many, highly expensive, responsibilities.
I'm not going to argue the philosophical point of how I disagree with Gov't run healthcare, just that we cannot afford it at all right now.

From the facts I am hearing Mitt's plan hits you hard with penalties over Obama's. Mitt has to be careful of what he says about his because he keeps saying they are not taxes and yet the GOP and Mitt(privately) keeps saying it is a tax on Obama's plan.

Regardless, we need reform that covers EVERYONE not a select few that can afford it. We are supposed to be this great country that takes care of our people and yet we have over 30 million without insurance because they can't afford it.

How great is that?

I am not saying it is a right but why should the greatest nation in the world fall far behind the others in caring for their own. We may have the best treatments but we have worst in delivery to the ones who need it.

This is where people ignore this fact! Think about it if everyone paid something into the system and we cut all the res tape and let the doctors do their jobs we can be the best. Right now it is an unfair system in the way that it only helps the ones who have money and fails on those who don't.

The other countries have it right, take care of their own on a mass scale as it should be. Leaving 30 million and counting out of it is just plain sick and un American!
