Where's the Media Outrage?
Channon Gail Christian, 21, and Hugh Christopher Newsom, Jr.,
23, were a couple from Knoxville, Tennessee. They were both raped, tortured
and murdered after being kidnapped early on the morning of January 7, 2007.
Their vehicle had been carjacked. Five suspects were arrested and charged in the case. The grand jury indicted four of the suspects on
counts of murder, robbery, kidnapping, rape and theft. Three of those arrested,
Letalvis D. Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson and George Thomas, have been convicted
on multiple charges including several counts of felony murder. After a jury
trial Lemaricus Davidson was sentenced to death by lethal injection and Letalvis
Cobbins and George Thomas were sentenced to life in prison without the
possibility of parole. Vanessa Coleman has been convicted of facilitating the
crimes and sentenced to 53 years in prison, and Eric Dewayne Boyd has been
convicted of federal charges as accessory after the fact to carjacking and
sentenced to 18 years in prison.
The national news media was
criticized for allegedly ignoring the story because the victims were white and the suspects black.
On December 1, 2011, new trials were granted by a liberal Special Judge to
the defendants due to drug abuse by the later disbarred, presiding judge. Representing the
families of the victims and the People, the Tennessee AG filed an appeal in
January 2011 trying to block the four retrials. In early March 2012, a Court of
Criminal Appeals put a hold on the retrials. An appeals court will decide if
there will be retrials. Convicted co-conspirator Vanessa Coleman's retrial is
not being contested by the AG. She was given 53 years by the later-disbarred
judge.

The HEINOUS nature alone .. should have provoked any thinking, caring HUMAN to outrage ..
But .. nope .. not the msm ..
I want to tell you guys something and believe it or not, i hold down two jobs and on one of those jobs i work for the Marriott hotel as a night manager. Well last week we hosted a group of business people and i was talking to two of the people who attended and they asked. Why is this country so racist, wow is it that a unarmed child can be shot dead and the mam not be arrested. All i could answer is, i dont know.
Now these two people are from the Netherlands, a country or region how ever you choose to phrase it, these people are from a country where lets just say they are not as diverse as we are. Even there, they see something truly vile in America and even there they see something wrong with a murderer going free.
You people are sick, sad vile pathetic hateful, ignorant:
I assume you are talking about the criminals in the story.....
I think the discussion is in regards to the media coverage....or lack of.
Both crimes are horrendous.
Its only a outrage when a black person is killed.
