Okay, i'm tired of hearing about this issue, so I will post once and put it to bed.
There's been so much back and forth on this that i'm dizzy.
Some conservatives say gays can get married with all the same rights but have to call it a civil unions.
Liberals say gays can get married and call it marriage otherwise it's a Fed civil rights issue.
Libertarians are just plain tired of hearing about the issue. They believe marriage is a contract between two individuals and can be handled at the state level. The Federal govt should stay out of it!!!
And of course there are those who simply do not care because it does not affect them personally and want to mind their own business.
Let them know America...

Gay marriage doesn't effect me, my family, or my friends in any way, shape, or form. The issue is ridiculous and is nothing more than a distraction for the masses of the crimes and financial pillaging the elite of this world are committing against the people of the USA every single day. But as with most other wedge issues, the American people (in general) are too freakin' ignorant to see what the hell is going on, so this kind of nonsensical crap matters to them.
But if we must call what the federal government does in terms of these partnership based contracts, "Marriage", then we have to offer it to everyone. You can't support the views of one religion legally, while denying that to others. My church decided to marry gay couples back in the 90's. And I'm part of the UCC, which is NOT a small church. The idea that a few fundies can dictate there religious beliefs to us and get backed up by the government is insane. Get the government out of the churches. If a church wants to marry gay couples, or if they don't, let em.
But heterosexuals need to get over their demands for special treatment with marriage laws and the legal protections of marriage.
Marriage, however, is ONLY a union between a man and a woman. Always has been and re-defining that meaning after 6000 years is somewhat stupid.
Gays need to back off on this, as it harms ther cause. be content with civil unions.

EXAMPLE OF THE CRAZINESS OF THE GAY MOVEMENT DEMANDS.
ITS LIKE SAYING ALL BLACK PEOPLE, NOW HAVE TO BE CALLED WHITE PEOPLE
ON THE US CENSES, BECAUSE WHITES HAVE BEEN CALLED AND ACCEPTED WHITE THROUGHOUT HISTORY, SO NOW ALL BLACKS HAVE TO BE CALLED WHITES !
RIGHT ?
OR IS IT, THAT NO MATTER WHAT COLOR YOUR SKIN IS YOU ARE ENTITLED TO THE SAME PRIVILEGES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS EVERY OTHER CITIZEN. SO WHY PASS A LAW THAT FORCES ALL BLACKS TO BE CALLED WHITE !
DOES BEING GAY GIVE YOU SPECIAL PRIVILEGES? BECAUSE BLACKS CAN'T BE DEEMED WHITE BY ORDER OF LAW, NO MORE THEN YOU CAN CALL YOURSELF PRESIDENT BECAUSE YOU SOMEHOW THINK YOU'RE OWED IT!
WHO YOU SLEEP WITH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRUE LOVE OR COMMITMENT.
