When will republicans admit that "Fast and Furious" isn't a scandal at all?

captainquiggle 2012/06/21 14:40:38
Never.
When they actually know the facts.

It's really nothing but a cooked up conspiracy trying to prove the administration is going after your second amendment rights when there's been nothing done at all to curtail those rights since Obama got elected.

Republicans have gotten so much of this nonsense started and then they blames the outcome on Obama. Here again, is one more thing Baby Bush started that the Democrats have to clean up.

Your sources are Media matters and MSNBC. MSNBC has been caught three times in the past week lying and Media matters refuses to report on it. Jokes.

That said, selling weapons to criminals in Mexico is illegal, and Eric Holder already admitted to doing it, saying the Bush administration was doing it as well. This should be investigated. If it is nothing but a witch hunt and that there is nothing to it, then there would have been no reason to invoke executive privilege, or to block the investigation. This administration's actions suggest that it was more than just some witch hunt.

It's a proven fact that the Bush administration enacted Fast and Furious. It started in 2005 and went national in 2006.

It was also proven fact that this administration was still running it and found it to be a crappy idea and shut it down, firing a lot of the top officials that ran it.

What exactly is anyone else looking for, if not some way to say that Obama's trying to strike down gun rights?

    You let me know.

In similar disputes between Congress and the DOJ, both Bush and Clinton called in that same privilege and many times more than Obama.

    You're grasping at straws.

You're the one grasping at straws, I never said that it wasn't started under Bush, nor did I say that Bush and Clinton didn't use executive privilege more than Obama (Obama has used it 2 times, I believe, compared to Bush's 6, Clinton's 14 and Bush Sr. 4. The only president that used it less in the last 40 years was Reagan, who used it 1). This administration shut it down after it got a border patrol agent killed. Your "proven fact" is a flat out lie.

You said that Holder admitted it was started under Bush and went on to saying that it should be investigated. You didn't present that information as fact. So, we both agree it was started in 2005 under the Bush administration, right?

For starters, it's the first time Obama's used it.

Yes, this administration shut down the operation after ONE border patrol agent was killed and those running that program were fired or re-assigned apporpriately. That's a fact. This administraiton shut it down. One agent died.

You've not told me what it is that the GOP is looking for in their investigation, though.

9 hearings and over 7 thousand documents haven't turned up a thing. What is it that the GOP is tying up the government over?

It's much like when they brought the birther issue to the supreme court, or when they banned members from the floor because they didn't agree with anti-abortion legislation. This partisan lesson on histrionics is very enlightening, to say the least.

What is the GOP looking for? I'm waiting for an answer.

The GOP want's to know why it took somepony dying to end it. And I can give you 7,000 documents that don't tell you anything either, all from a single group I work for, and you would have no idea what we do. They requested almost 80 thousand, and received less than 10%, of course they didn't find anything out. It would be childishly simple to prevent anything important from being released.

Yes, we are agreed that it started under Bush, but it should have been ended as soon as Obama was president, and charges should have been filed. That they weren't shows that it wasn't ended because the president disliked the policy, but because they were caught.

And the GOP isn't "tying up" the government over this. First of all, in an election year this heated, neither party is interested in doing anything. The Democrats have refused to even bring to the floor any of the jobs bills that have passed through the House (there were 47) and the Republicans refuse to pass any kind of real tax reform, immigration reform or any other policy. That is what happens when you have reelections every 2 years.

As I've said before, government agents die due to bad calls all the time. Can you name me the last time congress has called for an investigation into DOJ issues over an agent's death? You seem to believe there's precedent for this kind of action, but there's not.

The NRA and right-wing Pundits all agree it's about an attack on second amendment rights. The GOP does too. Yet, you are running with some ethical pablum you want me to believe? Not working.

I guess you have a bad memory. It was the Republicans that blocked three major pieces of Obama's Job Bills in 2011, because they believed it was unneeded stimulus spending. The GOP is tying up the government with BS all the time. They brought the Birther issue to the SUPREME COURT, for christ's sake.

With the GOP the way it is, that's what you get when you have partisan politics playing over the care of the people of the country.

What is your deal with this Birther thing? I haven't mentioned it once, yet you keep going back to it, like a small foal setting up Straw stallions because his position is to weak to... Oh, i get it now.

OH NO! THE REPUBLICANS BLOCKED 3 Pieces of a single jobs bill. Those bastards. That clearly makes the Democrats blocking 40+ okay. Your are such a hypocritical moron.

I'm not a Republican. You seem to be making that assumption, but nothing has given you any room to make it. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a second Amendment issue involved, but I really don't care. This should not have been happening, and it is an ethical issue. You haven't actually made one substantial point in the past three posts. You might think on that, and if you have any intellectual honesty, you will see how wrong you are on this.

The Birther thing was brought to the SUPREME COURT by republicans. It's empty, yet we had elected officials trying to bring it to the top court in the country.

Same thing with this witch hunt. Issa and his crew have already stated that they believe that Obama was going to use this to take away second amendment rights, and they've got nothing to base those views on, yet they've galvanized the right to believe that's the case. And, they are going above and beyond to try and find something to remotely prove their point.

    It's a sham.

The republicans blocked the KEY JOBS BILLS released and approved BY THE PRESIDENT. Just like they did with KEY IMMIGRANT REFORM LEGISLATION released BY THE PRESIDENT. They've blocked everything the president has had a hand in. You can't blame the democrats for that.

You're a libertarian, which means you're a scared republican. Only scared to be called out as a right-wing nutjob, so you pretend like you're in the center and if you actually vote in the center, you waste your vote every time. You wouldn't be surprised if there was an attack on second amendment rights in this issue? Yet, to date, there's been not even a mention of gun control from this administration. NONE.

It's not an ethical issue. If it was, we'd have seen scores of other botched programs go up the chain of command as well. But, we haven't. Unless you happen to think this is the only government program started under the Bush administration that hasn't yielded results?? If that's the case, continue to stay under the rock you've been using for shelter. It's a scary world out there.

They'll never admit it, because it's an election year, but the heavy partisan vote yesterday makes it all too clear they just want to try and smudge Obama's credibility before the election. This is a load of crap.

One dead border patrol agent. How many border patrol agents and other law enforcement lose their lives over bad calls in local, state or federal programs every year? I'm sure you'd like to think this is the first, but that's obviously not the case.

I am waiting to see WHY IT IS that the GOP is conducting this search after over 7000 documents and 9 hearings were conducted. What are they looking for?

    You please let me know.

If it's a conspiracy threory about how the 2nd amendment is under attack, we all know NOW where that theory came from. Some nutjob with an online blog. What a joke.
