When we celebrate the 4th of July, lets take a moment to remember the forefathers for freely passing the individual freedoms of humans when they wrote the CONSTITUTION OF THE U.S.A.

Are you explaining to your children, or vice verse why we celebrate Independence day? Are you telling them that our freedoms that the forefathers worked so hard to give to us are being compromised? Can you also look at them and tell them you plan on doing nothing to defend those freedoms the founders fought so hard not to create, but pass along and give us these gifts? These gifts can be found with the knowledge that when one freely gives up their freedoms for security they are neither safe or free thenceforth. Let us not forget that the monarchs of England wanted no part in giving us our freedoms completely. We our ancestors had to fight, some died but they demanded what was rightfully theirs. Whether you believe those rights were natural to humans of all kinds from GOD, or any other religious affiliation, for me they are just the rights of all humanity. The people that fought for our REVOLUTION which is why we celebrate INDEPENDENCE DAY, fought for something bigger than themselves. They made it very clear they were not only fighting for them selves individually, but for future generations to come. They made it very clear in the Constitution of the United States of America. They wrote these fair and equal guidelines, that if interpreted accurately and the way they were meant to be interpreted, as a method all societies would be able to use to establish a just system of governing.
When we raise our flags tomorrow, lets remember the brave, those that did not have any affirmation on whether they would come out triumphant, or who would return home at all. Lets remember why the display of fireworks was symbolizing the flashes of the guns and cannons that were used to fight during those times. When we say Happy Independence Day, let us always remember what the cost of our celebration was, because should we forget the cost of our freedom, When there is a great force working steadfastly against us to denounce us of our rightful freedoms as living humans, it is a moment to remember what those freedoms cost our ancestors. We as a People have forgotten that it is our duty to defend our own individual freedoms. When one takes a look at the stories History tells us, we must always be aware that those whom have given their rights up for more safety, you can be sure that you will no longer be safe or free.
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
" There is never a moment when a person in power will grant you the freedom to chose a position of opposition that would dismantle their position of power"
Let us honor and remember the Independence Day of 1776
Fly your pride high!
Remember the intent of the Constitution and our individual liberties passed through our Bill of Rights.

" when it comes to knowledge you cannot keep it unless you give it away."

geegee 2012/07/04 04:49:28+6This bastard Obama and his thugs want to take away our freedoms and reduce our country to a welfare state.. His "change" came out of the 60's when a certain segment of the population tried to take over the government. Well, I'll be damned if I will sit by and say nothing and do nothing about this !!! I believe that God is on our side. We have to do whatever we need to do to take back our country !!! We must preserve our way of life and our blessed Republic. Americans have paid with their lives before and we may have to do it again.. for our children and grandchildren. God Bless America.

If we only had a SCOTUS that had an inkling of the common sense of our forefathers.
Tell me, what American "rights" were being secured by sending "our brave soldiers" to Europe to fight in WWI, or WWII? Which of our rights were "secured" by sending Americans to die in Korea, or Santo Domingo, or Nicaragua, or Vietnam, or currently in Yemen, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Somalia? Generally, throughout our history, when "our brave soldiers" have been sent out to kill and die in foreign lands, our personal liberties have been regularly curtailed in the interests of "national security."
You cite above the Bill of Rights but who really fought to make them apply to all Americans, not just the rich and well connected? Who put their asses on the line to make this country respect the rights of black people, brown people, Native Americans, poor people, people accused of crimes who had no connections to high-priced lawyers? Who was it who fought to secure a semblance of equal rights for women?
Ir sure as hell wasn't the US Army, or the Marines, or the Navy, or the Air Force. Nor was it many people from ...

Ir sure as hell wasn't the US Army, or the Marines, or the Navy, or the Air Force. Nor was it many people from the right wing of the political spectrum. In truth, it was those from the left who did all of the fighting for our precious rights guaranteed under that brilliant document you all claim to revere so much: The Constitution.
Take the first line of Article I: Until the late 1950s and early 60s this Article was routinely violated in virtually every public school in the US by forcing every child - no matter their own religious affiliation - to pray to the Christian god. And who, pray tell, fought to stop this? The much hated by the right wing American Civil Liberties Union.
Take Article IV: How many of you know that prior to several of the Warren Court's rulings in the 1950s and 60s, few police departments ever bothered to get a warrant before invading a person's private home (needless to say, they rarely invaded the homes of the rich and well-connected), or informed the accused of their right to remain silent? The Warren Court created a special court sanction against local, state and federal law enforcement agencies who routinely violated our precious Article IV protections, it was known as the "Exclusionary Rule," and it prevented law enforcement agencies from using illegally obtained "evidence." Guess who it was (and is) who fought so hard to eliminate the exclusionary rule and consistently water down the requirements necessary for police to obtain a warrant to the point that today courts can issue blank warrants, 'en masse,' with no names, addresses, or even specific offenses required to be listed on the warrants? Those from the right wing.
Take Article VI: The last few lines lay out our rights in regards to being put on trial by the state: "to have compulsory process for obtaining Witnesses in his favor: and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence." Do any of you realize that prior to the Warren Court's rulings on this in the late 60s the majority of prisoners in this country had been put through trials without benefit of any legal defense (in Florida the numbers were as high as 95%).
Between the early 1950s (Earl Warren was appointed to the Supreme Court by president Eisenhower) and 1970 the Warren Court did more to enforce our Constitutionally protected Rights - and apply them to all Americans, not just the white and rich ones - than any other Supreme Court, Congress, or White House either before or since, in the history or our country. And yet, throughout his tenure on the Court, he was subjected to more hatred, more vitriolic attacks, more accusations of treason and more calls for his impeachment - all coming from the right wing - than any other Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
So all of you self-proclaimed Constitution-lovers should try to keep in mind that it was almost always the lefties, the progressives, yes, even the liberals, who have regularly fought the most to force the local, state and federal governments of this land to respect our precious Constitutional Rights.
And that includes fighting to save the lives of so many of "our brave soldiers" sent off to kill and die in useless, pointless, wasteful wars, by opposing them. While the right has almost unanimously supported every idiotic military adventure thought up by some moronic president, no matter how stupid, since the end of WWII.
And other countries have had similar civil rights movements you just haven't been paying attention. The British abolitionists ended slavery in their nation at least a generation earlier than here in America.
What really mocks all those sacrifices made during the last 150 years is having right-wing know-nothings like yourself going all apoplectic over the fact that a black man is in the White House.
"KENYAN BARRY AND COMRADE JOHNNY ROBERTS," indeed! I must admit, it made me smile.
NOT the Constitution.
jeebus. Don't create another generation of ignorant children.
Don't you realize this?
Liberalism in public education has already done that. It started in the 1960s. Many 2 and 4 year colleges no longer require history in their programs of study now. They (intentionally) don't want young people to know the history of this country or of the failed socialist/communist countries. It's sad when people want to keep our young people in the dark about their civil rights being trampled by Unconstitutional gun laws, free speech violating 'hate crimes' laws and 4th Amendment violations by (including sexual assaults by the TSA) unreasonable searches and seizures.
I cannot speak for others but I like to have a choice of what I can or cannot have..
This November let US have more than a landslide, let us have an avalanche.
modern day. No Alex Jone's, no Glen Beck, no Drudge, no 700 club, no other Tin Foilers. He just used his brain and understood GREED and CORRUPTION
IS THIS NOT A PROPHECY THAT IS COMING TRUE RIGHT NOW!!
................................ YEAR IS 1958 ................................
................................ YEAR IS 2011 ................................
ITS ALL COME TRUE !!
Robert Welch was a self-deluded jackass back in the 50s when he was running the John Birch Society and claiming that everything from fluoridated drinking water to Dwight D. Eisenhower, to the Rockefeller family were all communist plots to destroy America, and his words are still those of a self-deluded jackass.
Ron Paul is slightly more modern in his approach but still mostly just meaningless blather.
