When people ridicule Muslim and Mormon cults, is it hate speech?

This long and convoluted sentence from Wikipedia sums it up nicely.

"In law, hate speech is any speech, gesture or conduct, writing, or display which is forbidden because it may incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected individual or group, or because it disparages or intimidates a protected individual or group."

The core point I want to extract from this definition is the following.

" . . . it may incite violence or prejudicial action . . ."

It is not hate speech against Mormons to point out logical inconsistencies in the claims of Joseph Smith; however, It is hate speech to advocate violence against the Mormons residing in your town.

Likewise, it is not hate speech against Islam to express concern over the meaning of Sura 9:5; however, it is hate speech to advocate for a preemptive strike against those who would convert by the sword.

When in doubt, I tend to err on the side of free speech and free expression.

Religion itself is a Monster. It is the cause of separation, hate, war, etc... Everything bad, "You name it". Thats why I freed myself of it. I DON'T BELIEVE IN RELIGION ANYMORE. (Even though I was baptized Catholic). I feel so much better now that I don't have to follow their oppresive rules and restrictions that absoulutly makes no sense at all.

Religion is really OPPRESSION! And these so called "religious leaders" really use it for their own gain and to see how much power they can exert over you to control you. [GOD DID NOT INTEND THIS]!

Why would anyone allow an oppressor (Who's below the average human), to tell them how to run their lives? This is what I will never understand.

Where is the term "hate speech" in the constitution? The first amendment says we have a freedom of speech and it doesn't mention anybody's right to not be offended by what I say. Political correctness is a disease caused by thin skin and fear.

I think there used to be laws that allowed an attack on some one if they used "fighting words" in an argument ... I think it was in Colorado ... what that has to do with anything I don't know ... perhaps precedent .... maybe just interesting

All religion is ridiculed.

It isn't hate speech unless really go too far with it. However, it does show a certain level of intolerance of which most people are guilty of to one extent or another.

Oh I'm always happy to witness some good blasphemy. If only in the hope that I'll unlikely but very possible event of something ironically coincidental happening like someone shouting 'there is no god' and then getting struck by a bolt of lightning.

it is freedom of speech,we have all see what the muslims want to do with all those that insult islam I'm sure most of us don't like that but it is also freedom of speech.

people will hate over skin color , sexual orientation, Religion or non religion ( Damn you Athiests for not believing my Fairy tales )
Gender, Race , if you talk with an accent , if you are educated if your rich if your poor
people will find some reason to hate you
