When did political dissent become racism?

Throughout history, there has been political dissent by the people toward a sitting president. Until Barack 0bama assumed the Oval Office, it was always called a difference in ideology.

Political dissent, in my opinion, is one thing that has always made this nation great. But now it seems I and others have to defend myself/ourselves when I/we disagree with Barack 0bama. I support many other candidates (and have voted that way as well) who are not white/Caucasian, (including a black presidential candidate several years ago in a primary.)

The way I see it is that because my differing views with 0bama have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with racism (and I'm far from being alone in this,) my conclusion is that the ones who accuse me and others of racism are actually projecting their own racism onto others because there are so many of us who disagree with him and race is something that never even enters our minds. The same cannot be said for those who falsely accuse people of racism where there is no racism to be found.

When Empty Suit ran for President.
Don't you remember Hillary shrieking about how it was "patriotic" to dissent from Bush's policies?
    Democraps are FRAUDS.

I agree. And on a personal level, I will just say that a liberal friend who voted for 0bama in 08 called me the other night apologizing for using the race card on me back before the election. We went for 3 months without speaking after he did that and since then, we have not brought up politics. (Yep, it's true. I do have liberal friends in real life. Not a LOT but I do have some and not one of them supports the loser anymore.)

That race card is so worn and threadbare by now that you can recognise it in the deck face down.

It did not. But racists definitely are exhibiting a hell of a lot more political dissent with a Half-black man as president.

Which they are entitled to do. Political dissent is protected speech. You don't measure it as too little or too much. Obama's policies are adversely affecting a lot of people, that is why there is a hell of a lot more dissent. Are some racist? That's immaterial , their arguments will fail. Most political dissent against Obama is not coming from racists. Calling people racists is lame. It's like calling them a Wobbly or a Luddite. That ship has sailed.

Nice racism you have there, buddy. Explain how that makes sense when people like me support other candidates that are 100% black. Does that make everyone who supports 0bama a racist since he's not 100% black?

Deriding politicians and policies have been a great American pastime since there has been a USA.
Only with this administration have some attempted to make if verboten! It is not about race. It is about control.

Chances are if you believe Barrack Obama is anything other than a Christian born in this country you're probably being motivated by a mixture of racism and ignorance. That if you deride a mulatto as being unamerican because of his ancestry, you are you indeed acting out of racial hatred. That the rhetoric used to paint Obama as a muslim-sympathizer who loves himself some black welfare queens and do-not-belong-here-even-thoug... hispanics then your criticisms are inherently laced with race baiting and intolerance. The associations of Obama with black stereotypes are used because he is black. Those on the far right are viewed as racists when they decry the President not because of his policies but because of his skin tone and ancestry. Like it or not he is an American and he is a Christian, and claiming otherwise is not only silly but also inherently racially motivated.

You clearly failed to read what I wrote then. Also I would be racist by your definition then because I have no intention on voting for the current President come 2012.
