What's your take on Obama eating dogs?

We've all probably eaten a lot worse in the form of a hot dog or "chicken" nugget.

It's a common food in Asia.

I don't know if he did or did not. Much as I don't like the man, I'll pass on trying to make something out of this. I spent many years in the Orient -- in "the old days" -- when dogs were eaten frequently in their restaurants. While I'd like to think I never, never, ever ate a dog in my life, I couldn't swear to that fact. I, a dog owner and lover of many, many happy years, choose not to think about it. Just like I am a carnivore who cries when I think about cows and chickens and pigs, etc. Go figure.

Dog is a common food in that part of the world and he was a child. We keep them as pets, SE Asia keeps them for food. India reveres the cow as sacred and we eat them. Indians probably think we are horrible for that. When in Rome.......

Since I'm pretty sure that's all poppycock, I have no take on it whatsoever. Somehow I doubt the President would eat Diddley or any other canine species.

How do you know? Have you read any of his books? Does he eat them now, or did he eat a few when he lived in Indonesia if he did at all?

I am no obama fan, but from what I read he was a kid. What choice did he have. I know my mother fed me things I did not like, but I was to eat what was in front of me and be grateful. Now if he is still dining on dog, that's a different story. Lol

It is no big deal, even though I do not condone eating dogs, some cultures find it to be OK and I will not look down on them for it.

Some cultures eat humans too... I will look down on anything I find distasteful. They can do what they want culturally but in this country, you would be arrested for cruelty to animals for eating a dog because we do not approve of it.

Eating dogs and eating people are way different. I never said you couldn't look down on it, you have every right to, I just choose no to myself.

Unfortunately, people eat dogs in Indonesia. What is surprising is that Obama did not condemn the practice or show any sign of disapproval in his book.

He is flaunting into the faces of ppl who abhor dog eating and arrogantly wants their precious votes to put him into the HIGHEST OFFICE of the land..what a jerk and sick puke!!

Well, if anybody with two cents worth of common sense. Would know that there are many parts of the world that what we in America think as domesticated pets. Are nothing more that food. Many strange things are eaten by other cultures. Dog was even a common fare of many Indian Tribes in this country. And bugs of many types are eaten as well. In fact if you were in need of food, I mean really bad need. You would eat dog, cat, or rat to survive. So this is a whole lot of nothing to do about nothing. Something to take your eye off the goal. That being to get this country back on track to being a Republic that it should me, and not on the Road to total Socialism, and then Communism.

Simply another liberal led distraction to take peoples minds off the real problems at hand and Obama's dismal record. It's a shame because in the end no one will care who ate what, when and where but we will all pay for irresponsible spending and borrowing.
C'mon folks, focus. What's in your wallet, and what will be left in yours and your childrens if we keep spending and borrowing at the rate we are. Isn't over 40 cents of every dollar enough already? How long do you believe you could live like that?

Although many here in America would find this objectionable, we can't judge what other cultures consider food. We in America have a particular fetish about some animals, but only some, probably too much Walt Disney as we were growing up, I don't know. But this isn't the case everywhere. Some eat horse, some snails, and surely some others who were in Vietnam saw people eat raw rice bugs. Some here think nothing about eating chicken or beef but won't eat "Bambi" or squirrel. Even if Obama was born here he wasn't raised here, so his thinking isn't particularly American. After all, as all these community organizers and racial activists like to point out, people are products of their environment as they are growing up. If that's the case with gang bangers, or the case with those born in wealth who we're to believe are unable to relate to the "common man", why wouldn't it be the case with Obama?
