What's your opinion on animal rights?

I'll say my part I guess. I think animals should definitely NOT be tested on for cosmetic purposes, though I do think they should be tested on for medical purpose only. Endangered animals should not be tested on at all. Also, using animals for entertainment such as in circuses, when they used to chain bears up and make them 'dance' is totally unacceptable in my opinion. The same thing applies with Elephants that were once used for entertainment.

Animals should have rights.

I think animals should have THE SAME RIGHTS AS HUMANS ON EVERYTHING including dying so we can have our burger.

I guess we should test do testing on humans. Animal are lower on the chain and it makes sense to use them to experiment on. Please don't take me wrong, I'm and animal lover. Maybe we should do testing on convicted rapists and murderers, now that makes sense, because they should be allowed no rights.

I wasn't sure which to put. I am against animal cruelty, however the applying the word "rights" is what caused me to mark this answer.

Animals should have rights.

Humans are animals, too... And the way we, in America and any country that is predominanty christian/christian run, treat animals has a lot to do with religious belief. We think we own the world, the animals... Everything. We think we are superior to all, so we oppress (yes, oppress) and exploit other animals.

It is getting to the point where computer modelling can be accurately used to show the effects that any chemical will have on the human body.

It will not be too far in the future when animal testing will not be needed and drugs will go straight to human trials.
