What's next?...toy crucifixions of Jesus in every kid's meal?...

Manuel 2012/07/28 21:05:53
...Boy that should go over well with people who are not Christians right?...I could see that being Chick Fl-A's next move...and why not?.. But wouldn't that be unconstitutional?
That would be Mr. Cathy actually forcing his views physically on to the public.

Gay people are not doing that. Nowhere are gays saying that straight people should not get married in traditional form. No gay run food businesses have spoken out their views on why Gay marriage is the right thing for gays to do. That is because some gays actually disagree with that. And no Gay owned food businesses are handing out gay toys... boy...that would set a blaze.lol...

According to Mr. Cathy..."The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to
treat every person with honor, dignity and respect -- regardless of
their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," a company
statement said. "We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600
restaurants run by independent owner/operators."

But how can this be true? It is quite clear Mr. Cathy doesn't feel this for gay people who are married. I question...would he hirer people that were living together as a gay couple?
His views would make him a discriminator against gays that want to marry. So why would he hirer them? He would rather be putting gays back in the closet...

And who knows if he's got employees that will stand by him and will start judging people because they "look" like a gay couple...so what now?...they spit in the food for people they suspect of being gay? Maybe they will stand with dirty shoes on a special tray of lettuce made just for gay couples. It could happen.

If Mr Cathy feel so strongly about gay marriage...them maybe he's in the wrong business. He should open up churches...and that is were he can preach all he wants about traditional marriages. If he opens a church...I would like to have one of those little toy crucifixions...So what is the moral of this post?

Preaching in a food business can be very controversial and a bad costly move for everyone.

Your comments of ''he can go into his basement and dust of the old sign that says 'we don't serve N's here' '' is tasteless, has a hint of racism, and equates though who don't agree that being homosexual is normal/perfectly okay/gay marriage should be legalized to racists shows YOUR BIOGOTRY TOWARDS THOSE WHO DON'T AGREE TO YOUR OWN IEWS. So much for being open minded hypocrite. I'm not against civil unions or domestic partnerships as long as the states decide how they feel individually on the matter but to call them marriages is a step over the line even if it's equivilant in many respects in rights to traditional marriage. It would be like calling a GED the same as a high school diploma. Also nothing is keeping LGBT folks from EATING at Chick-Fil-A because who turns away a paying customers at a fast food restaurant. Also even gay friendly companies don't always recognized gay partnerships as being married even if they are legally recognized as such in certain states. Don't agree fine but don't bash them.

'Mr. Cathy I believe more then likely is a nice bigot...there are plenty of those types of people around...a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or even race...but are nice people.

Mr. Cathy doesn't seem to have problems with race but the sign thing I said id kinda the feel he is giving off...without realizing it...It's his religion that equals that sign...It's what makes him a bigot...because he's using religion for political means. That is no better then some one putting saying we don't serve " what ever " here.

And here is why. If he would have stated this thing about Traditional marriage over what? 20 years ago when he was starting out. I would respect that. Because that's what he came into business with.

The only reason why he is saying this now is only because Mr. Obama is about to give Gays the right to marry...That's all it is. He's against Obama. It's just all political B.S. He just another tool of the Koch Brothers and GOP right wing smear Obama campaign...

Now we are all not stupid....If Obama would have never open up to supporting gay marriage...Mr. Cathy would not ...

He doesn't really care about gay marriage...if he did it would have been voiced over a decade ago or longer then that. It's all just a ploy.

So yea he is probably a very nice man...but that doesn't mean he isn't a bigot...Many bigots are nice kind people. And he's got you fooled.

You guys seem to get the two mixed up...gay rights and gay agenda...There is no such thing as a gay agenda...only gay rights.. The term gay agenda was a ploy made up by right wing think tanks...to cause that mix up...

You guys need to stop using religion as a control device to push for your agenda. See the differences? .Gay rights...religious agenda...People want their rights...not some group's personal religious agenda shovel down their throats denying them their rights...

the Bible isn't meant to be used to as a right wing conservative control force to be used to deny gays or anyone their civil rights.

but that is the sign you guys hang up for all to see. It's sick....which is no better then the signs hung in the old south by Dixie-c-rats conservatives to control people from getting civil rights.

All you got is some book called the Bible and use it by condemning them. You guys are using that to push all this hate for them. LOL you even use the Bible against Obama...you all call him a Muslim terrorist.

The Bible is not a hate book...but in the hands of bias conservatives it has become nothing but a book of hatred profiling...just like your early ancestors used it as an excuse for exterminating the races that were once here and enslaving the black race...so very little has changed in the mindset of the average white adult conservatives of today...Example the tea party people are a good example of this mindset.

It's only a matter of time before you guys will come to believe that killing gays is the will of God. You guys use God and treat Jesus like toilet paper...by constantly wiping up your many continuous skewed provoking sins, which proves your all not Christians but great pretenders...The Christian right are nothing but the modern versions of the Pharisees..

And God will have the last say on you bias hateful hypocrites. .

The biggest shipper of jobs out of the country is obie's jobs czar ... Immelt ... the big boy at GE.

You need to ask all those black CFA employees who have scholarships how they like the discrimination.

For your information workman's comp. is not optional ... better brush up on your business knowledge. No unions is good and no one seems to be pushing for them. Entry level jobs are good and they have excellent opportunities for advancement at CFA.

And while you are at it ... look it all up yourself. I'm not your servant and wiil not subsidize your lazy ignorance.

I also recognize the rights of people with differing views. Gay rights have come a long way since "Stonewall" in the summer of 1969! Only in America could it happen so fast!

their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," a company
statement said. "We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600

There is nothing that prevents any company, privately and publicly held, from distributing religious trinkets. It may not be the best business or marketing model for publicly held companies, but private companies... who cares.

As to the "culture and service tradition" of Chick-fil-A.... any business including the bible thumpers will say anything for a buck.

What they do with their profits is also their business, unless they make the information known, and they do.

Since they choose to support the AFA, Exodus and anti-equality organizations... one has to reason... their culture is to kiss ass for cash but not required to honor their own culture or traditions.

To answer your first question, no, giving out plastic crucifixes would not be unconstitutional. There is nothing in the Constitution that makes it illegal for businesses to promote religion.

As for Mr. Cathy and the business. His business is just that, his business. He does have the constitutional right (see first amendment) to voice his opinion in any legal forum he is capable of accessing. If you feel Mr. Cathy is wrong or unethical you have the right to boycott, you have the right to protest etc. What you don't have the right to do is to prevent him from legally conducting business (see equal protection clause) such as some Mayors appear they believe they can do.

The Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. A business cannot be turned away because of the religious beliefs of it's founders. If there are other fast food restaurants, CFA cannot be denied. You are simply wrong about this. If it goes to court it will be an easy win for CFA. These mayors are already showing signs of backing down, they have been told by those who advise them that they simply cannot do what they said they would.
