With the latest shooting tragedy in Colorado, gun control is undoubtedly on everyone's mind. I know it's not as black and white as "freedom vs. safety" but people in the "pro-gun" camp seem to cite freedom, liberty and the 2nd amendment while talking about their right to carry guns. And as for the "anti-gun" camp, many cite the safety and well-being of the general public, as criminals and people with mental disorders will not have such easy access to weapons that kill. What do you think is more important: freedom or safety?

Take care,
This has got to be one of the greatest speeches ever.
If Mitt can do just half as good as this then we have a chance.
But if Obama is reelected then turn the lights out and kiss your ass goodbye.
"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither.
Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither. " Ben Frankin
Ben Franklin was a Founding father. Quite intelligent. And HE stated the obvious in that ANYONE willing to allow the FED to take over their daily safety do not deserve freedom.

Runaway slaves were technically free, but safe... not so much.
Did a runaway slave have LIBERTY???????????????
I would ask that you give that some thought, but you probably won't.
Think about that for a second.
Plantation life seemed pretty secure.Meals on time roof over head, always knowing what was expected of him next.Hmm..............wonder why he ran away.
use your noodle.
So even with everything a slave does not have to worry about providing for his own self,he is still not safe?
Even if all his needs are met by his master,he still has no power over his own life and no security about his safety?
He still might want or need to get more or do better, why ? because he is supposed to be a free human?
