WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF MUSLIMS PROTESTED IN YOUR CITY/TOWN?

muslims are free to protest whatever they want in my town, just like the teabaggers are free to protest. I might not agree or like their point of view, but it is their right to say it.

It's sad that extremists on both sides are trying to fan the flames of hate and intolerance. But we should be used to that by now, after all, we have the republicans and fox news.

I would make up my own little sign asking where is THEIR apology to Christians for the rape, torture, & murder and insults to Christ over the last 1,500 years.....Then we would hold a BBQ...

Look if they had a peaceful protest no problem, if they had a burn the flag and tear apart the town I guess vigilante justice would be the course of the day.

If they were protesting, I KNOW they were not the mainstream Muslims rather the Radical scum. The citizens and myself would have them tarred and feathered before they could squeal like pigs.

I would watch the confused extremists with interest and caution while allowing them the free speech they seek to stifle. What? I thought you were talking about the Tea Party protests.
Regarding the Muslims... I would do the same for them.

Personally, I would be the American that I am and respect their right to protest.

But I don't think they'd get very far here. This is a very Conservative little town with a lot of veterans.

Remind them of the First Amendment and if they don't like our laws either get used to it or move back to the Middle East

I would personally ignore and avoid them. Knowing they are a violent people, I don't think as a Christian that I should invoke someone to violence. They have as much right to demonstrate as we do.
There was an example of a similar incident in Chicago many years back when members of the Young Nazis demonstrated in front of a Jewish synagog. The most that happened was police moved the demonstrators across the street, but they still had the right to demonstrate.

But if you will note Annette, I specifically stated that they were Arab Americans. Perhaps I simply "assumed" that people would understand they are not "native" in their citizenship, rather coming here from muslim countries! In that case, would they NOT be implying that Islamic Law is what they were demonstrating to support rather than our Freedom of Speech? Wherein that would be, in my opinion, a violation of the Oath they took when they promise to be American over Islamic! And Islam is a law that violates our laws!

For when they take an OATH to become an American... they MUST SWEAR.....

No, OS - if they are demonstrating anything, they have the right to do so. The Young Nazis were demonstrating with Nazism as their theme. As an American we do have that right. I could start demonstrating right now to become a Hari Krishna, and it would be perfectly legal for me to do so.
I grant you there is merit in what you say that when they become citizens they are supposed to drop their past behind them, but Muslims don't and won't. Perhaps a better method would be to deny them citizenship and only allow them visitation visas instead good for 6 mo. only.
But if the law is good for us and we live by it, then it must be equally as right for them even if we object to their ideas. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Otherwise we show our hypocrisy in not allowing them the same freedoms we have.

If they are demanding that the maker of that ignorant film be arrested and punished and that America must apologize to Islam then they already show no regard for anyone else freedom of speech and i personally feel if you can't respect every ones rights under the first amendment then you (them in this case) hold no right to expect the same.

I would stay as far away from that demonstration as possible. The violent Muslims might murder me for the sake of their demonic Mohammed. Obama would be pleased to see American Christians murdered, and the Muslims would not be punished.

I think the vast majority of Americans would certainly exercise our right of freedom of speech in a most civilized manner. Something they can't relate to. We've progressed from the middle ages. They haven't. That's the basic difference between "us and them".
Period.

As long as they protest within the limits of the law, I wouldn't have an issue with them.

I would burn the Muslim flag. I know that for every American killed there should be at least 40 muslim killed.

Strange how most people feel the anti-Muslim film is OK because it's freedom of speech, but a few, like Salt, think it's not OK to let any Muslims have an opinion, and speak that opinion out loud, without fear of being deported.

Is it showing ignorance to allow people the right to express their religious beliefs, or showing ignorance by saying someone's religious beliefs don't count, and that they should be deported just because a few radicals (Muslim and Christian) don't see eye to eye?

It's hypocritical to give most religions a green light, but to give a red light to those whose opinion is different than yours.
