What would be your reaction if you woke up tomorrow morning and found out Iran blew Israel off the face of the planet?

I'd head for the stores and stock up. There'll be time to mourn the innocent victims later... but by then any of us might be one. In any case, before too long, anyone who wanted to argue about who was more at fault could look forward to getting kicked out of the bomb shelter.

I cry at every senseless act of violence. I don't cry out for vengence I cry at the worlds lack of civilization to get beyond war and particularly war over religions. I would cry because I know that the US and other nations would retaliate. It would be somewhat similar to the way I felt on 9/11, and I am not ashamed to say that I cried.

The nuclear retaliation from Europe alone would pretty much assure Iran was a glass parking lot. If ANYBODY in the middle east flips a nuke at any Euro ally, both the EU and the US are required by treaty to retaliate. It's not even a congressional decision.

If Israel nuked Iran I could see all out war. When Israel does anything everyone gets bent. If things are done to them, people are like the Jews had it coming. A lot of people would be happy. All the Islamic countries would be cheering. However, I do not disagree with what you said. But is Obama really an ally with Israel? He doesn't act like it.

Like I said, there are existing treaties in place that make it so the US and EU HAVE to fire off their nukes in retaliation if Israel gets attacked.

Sadly no, already existing treaties would ensure maximum retaliation.

Please explain why it would be due to right wing ignorance? This is Iran hitting Israel, not the US hitting Iran.

Israel and the U.S have been provoking Iran for years. Israel is run by a right wing nut that is going to get allot of good people killed. The U.S is at least being tempered by the military and a government that at least wants to try and negotiate. Israel just wants this war because of some myth about it bringing the end of times.
  • D D santana... 2012/02/22 12:44:21

The myth is what Iran (Islam ) believes and they don't see it as a myth. They are dead serious. Israel existing is enough "provocation". They are an upset to ALL the middle east (Islam). Anyway, I didn't ask you to explain to debate. I just wanted to understand what you were saying. I will stop. Peace. Out.

I would be sad because missiles kill the innocent same as the guilty. There are people in Israel that just want live and let live but bombs show no mercy nor do they discriminate.

I'd be watching the news, waiting to hear how the retaliatory strike went and wondering 1) what we would do without MidEast oil for 10 years, and 2) how far back into the Stone Age that entire region was going to be bombed into.
  • BHGOzzy EdWhite... 2012/02/22 14:21:21
    BHGOzzy
Considering the retaliatory strike would be nuclear in nature, I don't think we'd do without imported oil for 10 years.

Depends on the nukes used. Older atomic arms, yeah, it'd be around 50-500 years before we could set up even automated facilities. More modern nuclear arms though... nah, very little to no fallout involved.

Satellites aren't used to kill nukes in flight. Sorry but the Star Wars program was a total bluff. Patriot missile systems are the best defense system developed to date, but that only really works on SCUDs and IRBMs.

Did I say Satellites were used to kill nukes in flight? Jeesh. They detect missiles IF they take flight and THEN Isreal know how to stop them...just like we do.
So sorry I had to spell out that simple piece of info for you.
You think they only have Patriot missiles? Come on. You don't mess with the Mossad. You should know better!

We sold Israel most of the modern equipment they use. They don't have that much in the way of anti-missile defense platforms, especially not in the range of nuclear rockets. Mossad is an intelligence and wet-works agency, not the entirety of their military. The most they could do would be to stop the rockets from firing in the first place, not kill them in mid flight with James Bond Magic.

Think of it this way, if they DID have anti-rocket defense platforms in high numbers, especially long ranged ones, they wouldn't have the West Bank being shelled constantly with rocket bombardments, would they?

Also, last I checked, we owned those nuke detection satellites. Russia and China own most of the rest that we don't own.

Wow... I have two words for you... No sh*t!

Btw- they are more heavily armed than you think, AND can knock a "nuke" (IF Iran can make one) out of the sky. Like you said and we ALL know, we gave them the means to do so. Rocket bombardsments are different. They are close range rockets.
