The trouble is we don't know what would happen if we bomb Syria, its too much of a gamble.
Lets say we bomb and move in, what then the people who were asking us to come in will be the ones that hate us most, perhaps not, maybe other factions will target us.
Simple don't go in for just this once we in the west keep out, leave China and Russian be exposed has the bad boys.

We'll be stuck in a war that we have no place in, our taxes will rise because we can't afford our nation as it is and we'll be entering a costly war, and people will die for a cause that doesn't effect them in the slightest. We have no business being in Syria.

the good news is that Russia has asked for the UN to determine whether it was the Assad regime that used chemical weapons as opposed to the rebels. So far it seems that it was Assad, so Russia would find themselves in a spot after calling for an investigation, and then refusing to allow some kind of deterrent against him. It might work out OK if the UN can get incontrovertible proof.

Russia and China have both taken strong stands for Syria and it's present government. This could be a third world war especially if we were to kill Russian or Chinese citizens.

    Nothing good for sure.

Some people might find it a bit exhilarating or exciting though. Supposedly cheap thrills delivered via TV and Internet and charged on the government credit card (debt sold to China).

The true tragedy is that some people will take great satisfaction from an event that won't change any American lives for the better. It is junk food for the soul.

You're such an optimist, JM... ;-)

The optimism is that we won't get sucked in to this madness.

The reality is in the warnings that Russia and China have given if we do.

    Samyaza's Redemption
Agreed. I'm more worried about Russia. Putin pretty much calls all the shots in that country...
  • JMCC Samyaza... 2013/08/23 23:38:20
I am more worried about our governments than theirs.

    Samyaza's Redemption
You would, JM... You would. I personally have more faith in Barack Obama's administration than I do in Putin's regime (if it can be called that). And China has no desire to start WWIII...

Coming right up 6billion steaks well done, keep out this one not worth it, if the politicians are so adamant about war leave them go.
  • JMCC Ian 2013/09/03 18:22:31
I agree. After all to "lead" implies being out in front rather than driving from behind...

There is no learning curve with a nuclear war.
